Hey #kidlit illustrators, I'm looking for an artist who can capture apartment-life in an urban setting for a beginning reader series with a vibrant ensemble cast and a grayscale interior.
Respond here with images and a link to your folio.
Please no DMs. Agents are welcome to email.

The fairies’ dance includes singing and music, that sounds like birds chirping. If you were lured into the fairy dance you became enchanted and could dance for years without noticing the time passing, some people would have to live with the fairies' music ringing in their ears until their death.
In Nordic folklore, ’älvor’, or fairies, lived underground and could be seen dancing on meadows and marshlands at dusk and dawn. They were considered very dangerous and could bring disease, misfortune and death to people with their breath if they were provoked.
Illustration of a Swedish folklore, fairies dancing on a meadow in moonlight, surrounded by trees, stones and flowers. Story is a Nordic folktale.
MIST @folktaleweek ~ A little behind and not quite finished, but I wanna chime in anyway because it’s one of my favorite weeks on socials.
Älvdans (fairies’ dance) is a Swedish word for lowlying mist that appears in the summer time.

View of art supplies on a table, in the background a window with a view of garden and ocean.
Setting up my summer “studio”, had to do some shopping on the road as I discovered half way that I’d forgotten most of my water colours, hate when that happens. But I got a cute little w&n travelling kit and also some new brushes for a portrait class I’m taking this summer 🧑🎨 #gouache #watercolour

Hiii #kidlit community! Reintroducing myself for the #kidlitmegafeed (not sure how to actually get on that feed though?) 📚 I’ve illustrated seven childrens books, fiction and non fiction, and illustrated/authored one. #kidlitart

Hello to all the new (or returning) #kidlit & #kidlitart folks!
We're working to try to get the community more active, but also, it helps if everyone tries a bit to interact with one another! BlueSky likes interactions - you have to say something to get something back!
Here's some tips to help:
Text reads: "I think many of us have forgotten what it used to be like (I'm just as guilty!), how we needed to put more effort into engaging w/others, how to be authentically social again. Kidlit community is thriving on Bluesky! Pls join us?" Illustration shows an open book with words "KidLit Mega Feed" on a blue butterfly background.
I just posted about the new #KidLit Mega Feed over on X:

ARTISTS! Let’s do an art share!
Between Bluesky and Cara — social media is looking great for human artists this week, so let's enjoy it!
Bonus: share your Cara profile! 🙂
Spread the post to reach the most! 💙
I’m over at Cara as well, as an illustrator so far I’m really liking it 🌸 Hope to see more of the whole kidlit community there! cara.app/annalindsten
Periodic reminder I have a #KidLitArt feed for folks that post children’s art! It pulls images with the tag.

Illustrated Japanese hair ornaments, kanzashi.
For your hair 🎏 Kanzashis go way back🪲 Once believed to hold powers to ward off evil spirits, people wore them in their hair for protective purposes. Later on artisans began crafting hair ornaments that could be used as weapons. I prefer cake.

First #kidlitartpostcard of the year!
Hello art directors, editors and agents 👋 I love to draw animal characters, actually all types of characters really, build their little worlds and explore the interiors of their little homes. Looking forward to get to know some new characters in 2024! #kidlit

I still have a lot of Bluesky codes that are earmarked for the #kidlit community. Now that I’ve officially left Twitter, I’m not sure how best to distribute them.
If you know of anyone in need, please invite them to email me. My email address is on my website: www.brianlarossa.com

Illustrated childrens book cover of anthropomorphic dogs, one mama poodle and two pup siblings of which the youngest and newest one is something of a little trouble maker. Title in hand lettering “This was NOT part of the plan!”
Week 5 of the always so fun Illustrating children’s books class, art director Zoë Tucker writes the texts that we get to pick from. This is cover week and the characters are the two little pups I’ve been developing over the last weeks and their mama poodle 🐩🐶⚾️ #kidlit #kidlitart
