No10’s account is incredible.
I held Developed Vetting for nearly ten years and spent three years at the heart of the Cabinet Office. I have never heard of a Developed Vetting denial being overruled. Here’s why…🧵

After Carcassonne & then Kyiv, this year I’m celebrating my birthday a little closer to home with a visit to the spectacular Tintagel Castle.
As a way of saving on the relentless repair bill, English Heritage now request that visitors help hold the walls up, so I had to do my duty.

I’m confident the more LibDem MPs there are in parliament, the more likely this inequality will be addressed. No other party shows any sign of caring for rural areas.
Shropshire, with the costs it faces of delivering services across a large rural area, deserves a significantly better deal from Govt
These numbers for Government grant to Shropshire are bleak, and show the scale of the challenge for the LibDems in trying to recover Shropshire Council from the financial mismanagement it had under the Conservatives.

And just think, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage wanted us to join this madness.

Ed Davey is right. The UK must play no part in assisting Trump and his illegal war and his threats of war crimes.

A windy walk on Pontesford Hill / Earls Hill this afternoon. There were stunning views in all directions, including towards the hills in South Shropshire.

The local LibDem members in Bridgnorth also want to ensure that whenever the next General Election happens the seat will be taken by the LibDems from the increasingly irrelevant Conservatives.
A number of local events are planned.

The end of last week saw a rebirth of the Bridgnorth Branch of South Shropshire Liberal Democrats.
A meeting at The Shakespeare Inn saw a great deal of enthusiasm to tackle the rise of Reform in, and around, Bridgnorth.

This is the war that when it started, was backed by Farage and Reform, and Badenoch and the Conservatives. They consistently put Britain’s interests last.

Liberal Democrats are calling for the Government to halt the award of public contracts to Palantir, including the Ministry of Defence. A Trump aligned tech giant should be allowed no where near our national security infrastructure.- Helen Morgan
Palantir should be nowhere near our NHS.
The government should be setting out its plan for removing it from our health service as soon as possible.

Out talking to local residents in #Highley today. A really positive response with five local residents offering to help with my campaign.
They know that in South Shropshire it’s the LibDems that can beat the Conservatives, and they also want to ensure Reform can’t win.

Good to see a rural pub reopening, when so many have shut in recent times. Successive governments have failed to understand rural pubs are not just businesses, they’re also essential part of the fabric of rural communities, something evident yesterday in the Herbert Arms

It was good to catch up with the Liberal Democrat Leader of Shropshire Council, Cllr Heather Kidd, over a drink yesterday evening, in the recently reopened Herbert Arms in #Chirbury
The Herbert Arms has been renovated really well, & has a warm, welcoming rural feel to it

This is the result of an amazing effort by local residents in Cleobury Mortimer to raise the funds to save their leisure centre. Of course the threat of closure only came as a result of the Conservatives’ staggering mismanagement of #Shropshire Council’s finances.

A LibDem success! - and a particularly important one when energy security is becoming so important.
Unlike others who want to stoke division, we are the party that gets the job done.
Vote Lib Dem on May 7th for a local champion who’ll work to fix things for your community.
Yay for optimism and all that, but I think we need to really ask if we're putting in place what's needed to stop their resurgence, or just hoping democracies will fix themselves through vibes alone.
It's been obvious for a while that the UK's Electoral Commission is entirely unfit for managing dodgy funding to political parties - some of it from Russia and US sources bent on destroying our democratic institutions. This HAS to change.
