Today we are outside Bishop Percy's house at the bottom of the Cartway in Bridgnorth, where a yellow Glasdon Nestor 90 has taken up residence in this historic riverside area of the town. Bishop Percy's House was built for Richard Forster in 1580 and one of very few buildings to survive the great fire of 1646 during the English Civil War. Originally known as 'Forster's Folly' it takes it's modern day name from Thomas Percy, Bishop of Dromore and author of 'Reliques of English Poetry', who was born here in 1729. Today's lyrics are a mangling of the Battle of Otterburn by June Tabor, a traditional song that was included in Bishop Percy's hugely influential tome: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliques_of_Ancient_English_Poetry
