L'image représente une voie ferrée abandonnée traversant une zone densément végétalisée à Dinkelsbühl, en Allemagne. La perspective est prise au niveau du sol, le regard plongeant directement sur les rails qui s'étendent à perte de vue. Les éléments principaux sont les rails désaffectés et la végétation environnante. Les rails eux-mêmes sont usés par le temps, avec des rails rouillés et des traverses en bois irrégulières, recouvertes de feuilles mortes et de mousse. Le ballast est composé de gravier et de feuilles mortes, créant une surface texturée. La végétation de part et d'autre des rails est un élément dominant. Elle se compose principalement d'arbres et d'arbustes à feuilles caduques qui ont perdu la plupart de leurs feuilles, laissant apparaître une masse de fines branches entremêlées. La palette de couleurs de cette végétation est principalement chaude et terreuse, avec des teintes vibrantes d'orange, de rouille et de brun rougeâtre. On y distingue également quelques touches de jaune. Au loin, à travers l'ouverture formée par les rails et la végétation, on aperçoit un pont ferroviaire en pierre à travée arquée. Le pont est construit en pierre sombre et se détache sur un ciel pâle et couvert. Les couleurs de l'image sont saisissantes. Les oranges et les rouges éclatants du feuillage contrastent avec les tons sourds des rails et le bleu-gris pâle du ciel. L'impression générale est celle d'une nature en déclin et d'une nature qui reprend ses droits sur une structure construite par l'homme. La composition est symétrique : les rails de la voie ferrée constituent une ligne directrice forte qui attire le regard du spectateur vers le pont au loin. Les grands arbres dénudés de part et d'autre encadrent la vue, créant une impression d'intimité. Le ciel occupe la partie supérieure de l'image, offrant un arrière-plan plus clair qui souligne la densité de la végétation.

外濠を挟んで、外濠公園と外堀通りに桜が咲いています。水面に張り出す密集した小枝と花が水墨画の様なモノクロの印象。高層建物の水鏡が都心らしいなあと思う場所でした。
