However I argue that overall this is neither a tactical or strategic victory since none of their original conditions have been met. They technically beat their opponent at virtually every engagement but the result is not a tactical victory since these battles never resulted in the desired outcomes.

This is a technical military victory for the U.S in that they've absolutely pummeled Iran, however it's a strategic failure since Iran is now fully controlling the straight, no regime change, no nuclear enrichment change and the U.S agreed to their (Iranian) terms - plus Gulf States are livid.

The lazy way to photograph lightning LOL - the real purpose is to try and grab daylight bolts which are generally impossible to photograph without a trigger. It works very well, tuning the camera settings is the hardest part. At night it works exceptionally well. Saves the repeating long exposures.

I also pulled out the lightning trigger that I left a fresh Alkaline 9V in only to discover it was dead during the storms last Tuesday. So here I am with some rechargeable 9V batts and no lightning but "stormy wx" approaching. The odds were never good for 🌩️ today. #ONwx #ONstorm

Cold pool behind the leading edge of convection visible in the velocity data, this is common with elevated storms (blob of cold air), surface based convection would likely have the gust front along or ahead of the rainfall by this point. #ONWX

You can what a difference surface based warm sector convection has vs non surface based, zero wind reports in the cold air.

These storms crossing Lake Huron have developed entirely north of the surface warm front. They’ll attempt to become surface based once they hit SW ON where temps and dews are favourable. #ONWX

This patch of clearing is where the highest surface based severe Wx threat will be oriented. Healthy dew points and rising temps with good clearing. #onwx

The storm complex in MI near the thumb is riding into cool stable air at the surface but being fed by instability aloft. The main forcing being the cold front is behind (NW of) that cluster of storms.
