Oh they're never *actual* Nazis they just pal around with them & use all the same talking points. But how DARE you call them that, that makes you an extremist!

Also those people have WAY more money & bullhorns, they don't need more exposure. They got this big because of the "fairness to both sides" nonsense. "Don't be close minded, let's hear out the genocide-denier/anti-vaxxer/flat earther" etc

yeah the national guard doesn't have a good track record at protecting protestors. the main positive examples i know of are when they help people in emergencies- floods etc, and I think they escorted Ruby Bridges to her school.

ICE just gunned down ANOTHER person, beating a man half to death before shooting him at point blank range. What the fuck are we doing?

ARREST ICE NOW. PROSECUTE ICE NOW.

I will not rest until every single one of these murderers is held accountable to the communities they terrorize.

Nuremberg didn't even punish that many people, relatively speaking. Many of them got off, and some were even recruited to work for the U.S. government! (Project Paperclip)

Also, cops choose to be police officers. What happened to serve & protect? Oh wait that's police. ICE is a fascist paramilitary force.

BBC Audio | The Dark Is Rising Listen to the latest episodes of The Dark Is Rising on BBC Audio

Last year I started listening to BBC radio's audio of the Dark is Rising, a fantasy that starts on the eve of the Winter Solstice. This year I'm starting it again on solstice eve. It's great for all ages! www.bbc.com/audio/brand/...

the anti-abortion movement used to be mostly Catholic & Catholic social teaching includes supporting poor people, good wages, opposing death penalty, war etc. But then after they lost on segregation, the white evangelicals took over.

The "fair & balanced" framing is so annoying. They'd narrate January 6th invasion in the same tone.

I've noticed that when I have a car & drive more I have a worse mood. Less exercise of course, but also less contact with people. I'm a chatty Cathy & say hi to so many people and even better, meet & pet dogs!! Smell flowers!

Seriously I knew someone that ran an iguana rescue operation out of her house. It was the iguana's house, she just lived there. Like my friends' birdhouse. #iguanas #petrescue Wonderful that she was doing that, don't get me wrong. Just rather claustrophobic.

why does my neighbor in my apartment building have their AC on when it's 40 degrees outside? 65 inside? Do they have a ton of heat lamps for their iguana collection? Or are they just bad at noticing "when does this need to be on". #wasteful #stupidpeople #airconditioning

Yes, I also hope it comes to be measured & educated in different ways, because there is often a lot of bias in terms of class & ethnicity/race. #giftedness #giftededucation #biasineducation

I received some pushback from this from someone who researches it, so I admit needing to learn more about it. HSP also describes traits of giftedness. I wonder if it will become more popular w/ all the scrutiny/backlash against "low support needs" autistics. #autism #autistic #highlysensitiveperson

Apologies, I didn't mean to imply that you were trying to erase/avoid stigma, I simply believe that HSP does, but mainly I think it developed as a consequence of women & girls being less often diagnosed/identified. 1/2 #autism #highlysensitiveperson #autisminwomen

This is just trying to avoid the stigma of autism. Especially since women are far less diagnosed and more of us are into spiritual stuff, so come up with other explanations, like HSP, indigo/crystal children/starseeds etc.

The full cover, back and front, of my book, The First Fire of Halloween. The front features a pĂșca, the mythical Irish shape-changer, as a muscular human figure with a goat's head. He's standing in a field in darkness, with a fire blazing in front of him. Inset in the dark sky above and behind him are a pair of yellow goat's eyes. The title is in orange against the sky, and my name is in black against the fire.

On the back cover, the blurb reads: Thief. Trickster. Murderer. Humans have forgotten why they once feared the pĂșca. But he will make them remember. In the small Irish town of Athboy, there is a hill where the first fire was once lit each year to mark the beginning of Samhain. Bonfires would then be lit across the country, launching a festival to celebrate the last harvest before the harsh months of winter. On the night when the boundary with the Realm of the Dead was at its thinnest, it was believed that the spirits of the dead wandered the land. In recent years, that fire has been lit again every Halloween night.

Jamie Sheldon is an American girl visiting the town with her parents for an archaeological dig. Rone O’Callaghan lives on a farm near Tlachtga, the ancient site on the Hill of Ward. Both teenagers are close by when a local man is murdered. The circumstances suggest the killer may be acting out some ancient ritual.

The truth is even more macabre. This Halloween, as humans wander the streets wearing monster masks, there is a monster among them wearing a human mask. The most treacherous of all the ancient faerie folk . . . The shape-changing pĂșca.

Is this the MOST Halloween book you'll ever read? Maybe, but it IS set around the Irish hill where the bonefires were first lit. It is a story about the very roots of Halloween; the horror, mythology, and the harvest festival that lies between life and death.

yes, if an area has more business investors/developers/homeowners they can advocate for more funding, most cities have worse bus service in poorer parts of town, fewer parks, worse roads etc. But if they build it in those areas than will fancy gentrifiers ruin those places?
