a photo of an abstract
abstracts back in the day were crazy work. Ed Hedgecock, 1981 #Celegans meeting at CSHL.
βHodgson, Huang, Lang et al. show that TDP-43 limits ribonucleoprotein particle condensation into paraspeckles in a concentration- and polymerization-dependent manner. They also link paraspeckle condensation to stress response and neuroprotection.

thank you for sharing, he was so delightful. it's not too late to dabble with the worm! we'd love to have you β¨
freezer rack with CGC labels
this now sits in my office (donβs old office). Truly a legend. π
The worm community has lost a true legend with the passing of Don Moerman. Don's impact on C. elegans research is beyond measure. A friend to many of us here in MN, his work has been invaluable, contributing >5,400 strains (VC & DM) to the CGC, 20% of our collection!
when I told him I claimed lfg as my allele code he hooted and hollered.
this is so incredibly don. thank you so much for sharing π₯. his drum kit took up most of the living room in his house!
thank you so much for sharing this π₯²
It is with great sadness that I'm sharing the news that Dr. Don Moerman passed away this weekend. He was such a legend in the #Celegans and Canadian science community.
whoa, didnβt know that was a possible outcome π€, is it the selection committees that make the call on stuff like that?
wow! congrats to jihye and your team!
Why would I use "AI," I actually know how to fucking write
spoke to soon, yaaay
nothing out here on the west coast π’
I keep checking our research office portal for managing grants but nothing yet, oh dear
hell yeah get em!
"genAI can be used to create podcasts from a paper to teach st-"
Let me stop you right there. Before you feed somebody's paper to a slop machine, invite that somebody to talk to your students about their paper. We're right here. We academics won't shut up about our work, man. π§ͺ
I really want these websites to be able to handle a user hitting βbackβ on their browser without the whole thing going to shit

thoughts on when it'll be this year? π
Happy #WorldFrogDay!πΈ
We apologize to all frogs and toads, for not having nearly enough of these amazing animals on our covers. We will do better.
scratch cards for immediate feedback on a classroom assignment
pretty new to teaching but students love these scratch cards for doing worksheets in class! 10/10 highly recommend!

In class today, we reread this nice article about scientific community doi.org/10.1073/pnas.... We talked about the ways in which the #C.elegans community helps research move forward and reach other scientists.
campy groupset though gives +50 watts
I think what's crazy is that for some of the impact+ chairs who might come, they might also have an academic spouse that would need a lab/resources too. that money isn't part of the impact+ pot, so really not very feasible...
I mean, won't those people be applying to project grants right from the get go once they land?
