I've sharpened my craft so much it's nice to look back at it where I started.
We are selling down the last of the stock, haven't decided yet what I'll be doing next.

My 7 year old has taken up baking, I love how many interests she has. I especially love this one. 😁 I've also made sure to explain to her what a "mom tax" is. I feel like this was an essential life lesson.

As I sat here reviewing the picture book manuscripts I elected to write this season, I realized that I was definitely feeling a certain way about the state of the world. In the middle of migration and grief stories, I had two about inter-generational healing.

My # 1 critique partner gave the 🤌🏾 seal of approval for "The Night Mia Followed the Drums." During her dance solo she recreated Mia's yanvalou that healed 3 generations.

Flew into Boston to see the family & do fall 'tings with my #1.
Went 🍎 picking to a farm that had no 🍎s. They suggested we go 🎃 picking instead, 🎃s were already picked. Then decided 2 do a 🌽 maze. As farmers we realized it was sorghum growing not 🌽. Felt like I was in a real life picture book. LOL
Not all crooked trees are bent with age.
Some lean over to tell secrets, if only we would listen.

Amazing !! There were sooooo many great submissions that day. Can't wait to read these books on the shelves.
