it’s a drawing of Buddy, the protagonist of the third game in the LISA video game series. she’s a scruffy, angry little kid in a poncho, with her dark hair in a partial ponytail on the top of her head. she looks to be maybe around 11 or 12 years old. a big bandage is wrapped around her head, covering her left eye but failing to hide the jagged scar on her face, and she holds a long knife in her right hand, like a machete or a short katana. the blade points downward and red blood drips from it. her pants, boots, poncho, bandage and even her hair are all soaked in blood. it pools at her feet. what is a kid like her doing perpetuating the cycle of violence at such a young age? that’s not healthy at all! for this piece, i restricted myself to only two marker colors—red for the blood and black for everything else.

i guess maybe i should just try describing the elements of each of my art pieces that stand out to *me* the most? like the color combinations and textures and stuff? but idk if that’s what alt-text readers are looking for….
i know that someone made an LLM that automatically generates alt text for images, but its creator had to take it down because of costs, which is a shame because that would’ve really helped
i just looked through the thread… there are a lot of helpful tips and resources in there, but nothing that addresses what to actually *write* in the alt text
it’s down…. it looks like it got flooded with too much traffic and the creator can’t afford to run it anymore ;-;
maybe that’s not an excuse though? idk. maybe i just need practice
yeah… honestly i agree. the problem is that i have no idea how to describe my drawings in a way that’s helpful. like i know i should keep the length of my alt text descriptions at about 1-3 sentences, but what do i even focus on? i have trouble describing things in words T_T
