Ok thanks!

The Blood Angel captain was a finecast release a number of years back. It’s a sculpt based on the 2nd Edition 40K box art.
In regard to your second question, sorry but I’m not familiar with using alt text.
A Warhammer 40,000 space marine army made of 1980s miniatures.
With the last Death Company marine painted I can finally show my entire, now fully painted, Lamenters army made of Rogue Trader era miniatures!
Truly a ridiculous project but one I am very proud of.

Found this old t-shirt at the bottom of a drawer this morning. 29 years ago…
Anyone else get this back then?

Read it slowly and understand it. 😳🥺

Some sculpts from the late 80s mixed in there as well.
I would use a darker colour. That white is a big target to shoot at.
Work in progress on my Steel Legion kill team. Trying to make them feel unique while being appropriate for the sculpts. I'm stealing a peadot inspired look from some Imperial Guard in the old Cityfight codex #warhammer40 #minis #miniatures #hobby #tabletop
I did something similar with my Steel Legion.
Not sure if I want to cover up all this beautiful frame detail on my RX78 unleashed model.
Maybe I leave it displayed with half of it still visible.

I really love how quirky and sometimes insane the oldhammer, rogue trader era was.
I still maintain that the Terminators from 3rd edition Space Hulk are the gold standard when it comes to Terminator-armoured marines.
Should be a little longer so we get to see all of the mini. It cuts off before we see its back view.
It starts with one but somehow they reproduce and then before you know it you have many. 😄
Looks like you’re just missing the railings that mounted to the top of the sides (which were easily broken) and a bolter for one of the hatches.
Yes, it’s yellowed but it’s not far off from its original cream/beige colour. I find that the plastic used is very brittle now due to age.
Oh I prefer the boxier 2nd edition ones but I collect rogue trader era minis due to the quirkiness of that era.
Finished up an old rogue trader dreadnought in Hawk Lords livery.

I initially avoided The Orville when it was first released as I didn’t want to see Seth McFarlane humour in space but later binged all of it in a couple of sittings and I kicked myself for not giving it a chance earlier.
Ahhhh 40K 2nd Edition. Love it.
I primarily buy unpainted ones or even poorly painted ones that I strip the paint off of. I do have some that have been painted quite well by someone else but I find I don’t have a good connection with them since they aren’t “mine”. I find painting makes them your own.
Precisely why I prefer rogue trader/2nd edition 40K. It allowed for more narrative play where the emphasis wasn’t on balance. Homebrew rules modifications and campaign play is my preference over the current competitive version of the game.
Bit of a "speed" challenge, 8 hours max. A number of compromises were made but it's done, cheers.

These are great! As the Dark Angels have always been my favourite Space Marines, I highly approve. Wish my skills were as good as yours when I began painting.
I meant several other chapters, not minis. 🙂
My first 40K minis were my Dark Angels. Have several others but these will always hold a special place in my heart.

Before we had specialized schools for assassins we had the OG Imperial Assassin. I think I picked this one up in 1989. He was a close combat monster on the battlefield.
