I was just at The Strand in NYC yesterday and almost picked up a copy of this, emboldened by our current long read! I think our opening conversation on BH exceeded my wildest expectations.

Very excited to join @marcusluther.bsky.social & @thevogelman.bsky.social’s Bleak House book club! Made the very unnecessary purchase of the cloth bound edition—because books. Also, thrilled to see Terry Eagleton wrote the forward to this edition.
Message them for details!
Reading this as a group is going to be such an epic experience! I can tell already from the interactions online. Glad you are joining us, Trevor!
Ha, no pressure! Looking forward to this whole endeavor. Off to such a cool start.
Love to see you writing poems to explore your own thinking…and to craft an argument 😊
Day 17: Today's poem reckons with the many sciences of reading. "Poetry as Argument" in @thevogelman.bsky.social #PoetryPauses inspires me to see arguments in poetry. This one uses Comparison/Contrast. #PoetryasPractice #NationalPoetryMonth #AmWriting poetryaspractice.blogspot.com/2026/04/apri...
It’s the Ides of April already, and besides tax day, that means National Poetry Month is already halfway over!

Thanks for the rec!
Yes George Janeteas arranged a district wide reading group, and that’s who I spoke with. So happy to hear so much professional reading is going on in TDSB!
You should read it and catch up to us and jump in the conversation! I’d love that !
It took me forever to finish that one, walking away, coming back, but I'm so glad I did. It's wonderful! Congrats on that accomplishment!
I'm sure there is! Should be easy to find with Google.
We start Bleak House today, with close to 30 readers from four different continents so far. Join us -- it's not too late! Message me today to start getting the emails and connected to our reading group.
@marcusluther.bsky.social
Yes, I had a chance to speak with that group of readers via Zoom. Great crew, thank you!
Anyone interested in using Artful AI in Writing Instruction as a book study in tour district over the summer or next year?
I promise, it’s a practical and balanced breath of fresh air in the rather heated conversation around this topic that gets teams thinking + talking.
Let’s connect!
I really loved todays Poem-a-day today. Poems remind that sometimes in spite of all the tragedy in the world, things can go right. Enjoy reading "Mercury" tonight.

Woohoo! Have you sent Marcus or I your email? It’s going to happen off of BlueSky so we can get you connected through a Google Doc link. We’re over 20 readers now!
Always adding new ones to the mix! @heymrsbond.com and @marcusluther.bsky.social and I had a great text thread going about how we can use this one alongside Wordsworth's original:

This piece got a lot of attention when it went live ten years ago on @edutopia.org for #NationalPoetryMonth. Even as so much has changed in the last decade, I standby everything in this article!

I'm finding the endnotes in Penguin are phenomenal. I started chapter 1 because I'm paranoid about falling behind.
She was in the film adaptation from BBC, which was phenomenal! I've been a longtime fan of the story and now I'm excited to finally read it.
Make sure they have a generous renewal process . . . it's going to be a while 😃 Look forward to reading with you!
📖 Next weekend we'll start our slow-read of Bleak House by Charles Dickens (one "installment" of chapters a week, all the way through August)
For those interested, feel free to message @thevogelman.bsky.social or me and we'll send you more details!

I spend a lot of time helping AP Lit and Comp students learn how to avoid passive voice . . . and I'll even show them how to incorporate AI in that learning process.
I also tell them, "We only really need to use passive voice when we want to intentionally bury the subject of the sentence."
👀
Eew!
Well, well, you are joining in for a NOVEL in all caps this time Tim! I hope you enjoy the process. Excited to have you! Have you shared your email address with Marcus yet? If not send it to me in a DM and I'll get you editing rights for the common doc.
Tom, I'm jealous of you as a first time reader of that novel. It's so good! Now hurry up and finish and join us on Bleak House in ten days :)
Never seen it, but I'll check it out.
Spoilers Nick, spoilers!! I LOVE that adaptation, and I remember having to rewind and be like, "no wait, what just happened?"
