Risto Saarinen presented Juhs Virta’s paper on “Time, Change, and Christ in Martin Luther’s Theology” followed by William Ruasell’s “Luther’s ‘This-Worldly Mysticism’”
The keynote speaker was Aristotle Papanikolaou with his “An Ascetical Politics: Theosis, Mysticism, and Askesis”
The. 4. Ron Rittgers added a good paper on “Intoxicated by the Word: Scripture as a Source and Site of Mystical Union I. martin Luther’s Theology”
After the Break, 3. Ilmari Karimies enlightened us with his work on “From Contemplation to Social Action:On the Meaning of Mystical Language”
2. Joshua Holmann spoke on “Nicholas of Cusa’s Mystical Theology and Church Reform on the Eve of the Reformation
The second day of the LSN #Lutherandmysticism pre-AAR conference was packed full of excellent engagement with Luther and mysticism. 1. Luther’s Christological Appropriation of Pseudo-Dionysius.
