Currently reading. Currently terrified.
Writing Center hoodies! I've never had the budget for swag, but my department bought these for us.
Commuting read. Published in 1935; chapter 1 already eerily familiar. #amreading

In 2020 we were faced with how much the 1918 pandemic had faded from public memory. Pale Horse, Pale Rider by Katherine Anne Porter is the only fictional representation I can recall -- and when I first read it many years ago, I knew nothing about the 1918 flu.
Teaching the novel right now!
Our Sid from a few years ago, by Marty. Miss our vampire kitty! #blackcats #catsofbluesky
This afternoon for me! Getting so close to being ready to query.
Er, in Florida. Never understand how people are smug about Florida.
Agreed. When folks complain too much about winter, I remember the month I used to spend at Grandma's every summer in my childhood and how it was only bearable because I was a child going to both pool and beach every day.
Because of AI, I now have to check all my students' sources in their research papers to make sure they're not hallucinated. When I clicked on one of the journals, I was informed that I was a suspected AI, and had to do a Captcha to get access. Does it keep spiraling from here? #writingstudies
Early morning writing fail lately, but just two more 8:30 classes next week and none next semester, so I am getting back into the groove! Finally figured out what was wrong with one of my last chapters last night. #5AmWritersClub #AmWriting
The current contents of my bookbag, reflecting just a few of my interests.
Fair. But it happened.
This is a terrific explainer on Bluesky and how it works and why, and I recommend reading it for a good basic understanding of the place.
"People are figuring out that they aren't morally obligated to listen to assholes on social media. And Bluesky is actively helping them do that."
I think he's going to be like Carter -- reevaluated over time.
Wow. I just deny the requests and ignore. I hope you're right, but judging by the scammers that try to prey on my mother on the phone, I'm afraid their numbers are legion.
@phillewis.bsky.social can you boost this?
Sid is gone. We're going to miss our fangy darling.
They're really uncreative in what they think people want, aren't they?
I've followed and been followed by so many interesting new people as well as old friends over here. But now the onslaught of fake men, all those clearly fictional silver foxes who are surgeons or high up in the military, has begun.
Got a late start today, but it's 5am one timezone over, right? #5amwritersclub
As a natural blonde -- even at my age -- I've never really understood the fuss. It definitely suits your coloring, in any case!
Very good reasons.

What era are you writing in?
Hi! I'm finishing revisions on my first full-length historical mystery, set in Gilded Age NYC. I'm getting ready to query in the new year.
