From the image and more: There would be nothing but snow today, just like yesterday and the day before. Bernie was exhausted from shovelling and a lack of a good night’s sleep. It was supposed to stop today, but gas prices were supposed to go down as well. The bills, letters, cards, and junkmail had been straightened out and sorted. Why someone hadn’t noticed that a dead man was still paying his bills was the bigger question. Most of the bills were two years old; where would they be going now if no one were alive to pick them up? Maybe Bob. Why did that seem to be the only answer? Jake fixed his tractor once, and he still raved about it.
Life goes on even after your dead. Somehow Jake is still paying his bills.
