In 2008 this incredible medieval wallpainting of St George slaying the Dragon was discovered at St Cadoc’s church, Llancarfan, Wales. Likely 15th century, the vivid mural was painstakingly uncovered from under c20 layers of lime wash in 2013.

The Traprain Law Treasure spread out for display.
The Traprain Law Treasure was discovered by George Pringle, foreman of excavations on the titular hill in East Lothian, #OTD in 1919. Buried around the mid-C5th, it is the largest collection of late Roman hacksilver ever found. 📸National Museums Scotland #medievalsky
