Full-page “ad” in the March-April 2026 The Onion with a grid of 12 images of beaks (10 bird, 1 octopus, 1 squid), with text at the bottom reading: Beaks Bird tested, cephalopod approved. (Not a paid advertisement)
I’m not sure whether it’s the current moment or the general fact of an empty, uncaring universe, but the so much of the latest issue of @theonion.com is hitting me right.

It's always a mixed bag right, because even if it doesn't portray anything close to reality and even does some harm (negative stereotypes, misinformation, etc), it also gets a lot of people interested in archeology who wouldn't be otherwise, right?
Wow, those pictures are beautiful. Reminds me a lot of Mesa Verde and some of the other cliff dwellings around the area where I grew up
Tbh I didn't know any of the archeology in those movies was even based on anything real, I guess I just assumed it was all made up
I'm so sorry to hear, understandable you'd need some time to yourself after something like that :<

I made this little badge with defiance years ago, and it’s remained one of my most popular designs.

This blog about medicine during the Age of Piracy has a post dedicated to medicine containers from the 17th/18th centuries. Great read, not only if you are interested in the era, but also for inspiration on creating potion bottles that are not a corked flask:
