SAVE THE DATE - our next DGZ International Meeting will take place March 14-17,2027, in Bonn, Germany. Stay tuned!
Thanks to the organizers for this great course!
It was a pleasure to contribute and being able to present our research.
Cool! 💥 Confinement induces chiral response of a photoswitch! 🥳 Congrats!
It’s a big leap forward to describe centriolar satellites in C. elegans! This will open new avenues to study their functions during development. Congratulations @tdvalilab.bsky.social and the students Zakiah Talib and @beriltiryakiler.bsky.social.
Happy that the Zanin lab could contribute. 🎉
Today, we painted all corridors in our labs as a group effort with LOTS of help from others from the department biology @fau.de Thanks to @biomemphys.bsky.social @zaninlab.bsky.social, the cellbio and department admin for joining. It was a great effort with perfect result 🙏💪🍀
Thrilled to report another milestone: 900 nm photoswitching enables NIR-light detection and reversible invisible writing of high-contrast 2D and 3D displays! Check out our newest molecular photoswitch PBFT (peri-benzo[a]fluoranthenethioindigo) at ChemRxiv - doi.org/10.26434/che...
Alle Studierende und Beschäftigte aus NAT und PHIL sollten morgen zu den Krisenversammlungen gehen und sich für eine bessere Gebäudesituation an der FAU einsetzen!
Congratulations to Tamara and Alina! 🫶🏻🎊🎉🥳
It was a pleasure to contribute to the story.
If you want to learn more about how the shape and mechanical properties of centrosomes are regulated during mitosis - a must read.
Sophia won the poster prize at the @dgz.bsky.social meeting in Heidelberg. Congratulations! 🎉 🥳 😀

Also thanks to the organizers for this great meeting!
Stop by at the two lab posters at the @dgz.bsky.social Meeting in Heidelberg!
Esther will present Mikhail’s work on asymmetric furrow ingression and Sophia on a novel signaling pathway that positions the cleavage furrow at the right place.
Don't miss the 'Mitosis and Meiosis' workshop organized by simonereber.bsky.social & Thomas Mayer !
Joyful day for the lab! 🎉 🥳💫🍻

📢 Pre-print alert 📢 We are excited to share the lab's first research article! We used our artificial cortex system to investigate how membrane composition regulates self-organized cortical dyanamics. Check it out here: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Deeply honored that our story was chosen for the cover!

Poster with DGZ 2025 Meeting details (speakers list, organizers, sponsors)
We are excited to announce the details for this year’s #DGZ International Meeting, a very special one as we are celebrating 50 years of DGZ! Join us in October in Heidelberg, where the DGZ was founded in 1975. Check the speakers line-up etc. at the poster. Registration: shorturl.at/EHUzb #DGZ50
#TeamTomo visits the centrosome. I remember the centrosome and PCM being one of Julia's first targets when we were postdocs together at @mpibiochem.bsky.social. It's cool seeing the progress here in worms with Jeff. Beautiful #CryoET across the cell cycle. @centriolelab.bsky.social take a look! 🧪🧶🧬
Today I will present our work on Anillin function during unilateral cytokinesis at @ascbiology.bsky.social meeting in San Diego.
Getting ready to pregame @ascbiology.bsky.social with an epic reunion of the Oegema/Desai lab @odlab.bsky.social. Can’t wait to see everyone. Can’t believe it’s been 22 years since they started it all.
Please join two sessions of the 8th Frontiers in Cytokinesis Subgroup on Sunday Dec 15 at #cellbio2024!
A new manuscript by @tdvalilab.bsky.social investigates how centrosomes get their spherical shape. They show that PCMD-1, a centriolar protein, is very important for centrosome shape. We are happy that we could contribute to this work!
