Organic farming has to be the only way forward....
🚨NEWS🚨
Rep. Massie and I just introduced a bipartisan amendment to strip the pesticide liability shield from the Farm Bill.
If a company’s product makes people sick, it should be held accountable. If states and communities want to create stronger protections, they should have every right to do so.
Scott Rinckenberger's art highlights how trees logged more than a century ago can be surprising sources of inspiration and hope. to.pbs.org/4mJo0GJ
Happy Earth Day! 🌎
Great to see them putting women right at the front of sport …
Witness the mesmerizing murmuration of starlings in Italy, a stunning display of nature's coordination and beauty as they dance through the sky in unison.
There really is no such thing as race. We all came from Africa. We are all of the same stardust. We are all going to live and die on the same planet, a Pale Blue Dot in the vastness of space. We have to work together.
— Bill Nye
Every spring/summer on our mountain commonage, wild native tree seedlings like this rowan pop up, the seed carried by birds or wind. The baby trees always soon disappear, eaten by sheep.
Trees mostly don't need to be planted, just given a chance to grow.

The AI boom comes at a cost 😮💨
Behind the AI hype is a surge in energy use, data centre expansion and growing threats to democracy. Can it still be called progress if it deepens environmental harm, surveillance, and the grip of Big Tech and autocrats on power?

Today is the 2 year anniversary of when I met the Ravens. They just checked me out from a distance then! Here is some of my fav footage: them courting, feeding each other, barrel rolling and some of their vocalisations. They are the most amazing birds and I am so lucky to have them!
Did u know? Gardens are great places to re-use, upcycle, recycle, or repurpose. This pallet arrived as part of packing for a stove. With a bit of imagination & tinkering from my hubs, it became my new potting-up bench. Always wanted one....so chuffed. 🌱🌿🇬🇧🌱🌍
Are we hearing this message, Ireland???
We could well be in *very* deep trouble if we don't.
David Attenborough takes on PHEASANTS!
“Native to Asia, but now released into our countryside on an industrial scale, over 30 million every year… eating vast numbers of insects, reptiles and amphibians every day.”
Time for the Government to regulate this out-of-control industry

These incredible Buff Tip Moths blend in so well with branches that you might mistake them for sticks. Nature's masters of disguise are truly fascinating!

Humans are not part of shark diet and sharks do not hunt humans
Most shark bites are cases of mistaken identity—where swimmers or surfers resemble seals or fish
Yet Hollywood has never made one movie telling the true nature of sharks
Spielberg made millions for portraying sharks as monsters
Did u know? Creating a wildlife pond for small souls doesn't stop there. They also need habitats around the perimeter to shelter in as they leave their watery home...So, don't take your trimmings to the tip, create a pile at your pond's edge to protect tiny lives. 🌍🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🦎🐸🪲🕷️
There is no amount of money, oil, or gold that is worth more than having bees, trees, and clean water.
Shoebills are unfortunately not doing too well in the wild. It has been estimated that there are only between 3,300 - 5,300 adult shoebills left in the world according to IUCN. This is due to wars, habitat loss, poaching and capture for the illegal pet trade.

Congrats on “opening” a strait that was open six weeks ago, and all it cost was at least 13 dead service members, thousands of dead Iranian civilians, tens of billions in taxpayer dollars, our loss in global standing, and the Iranian regime’s increase in power. Phenomenal work.
Wonderful photo Donna. I do hope he stays safe.
Adorable leveret on my local road this morning, I really hope it stays off the road as traffic is so hazardous for these beatiful little creatures.
Like, for example, a Secretary of Defense citing a fake Bible verse from Pulp Fiction to promote wars of aggression.
“The Irish government balked at introducing any such moderate, sensible energy-saving measures, presumably fearful of backlash from a public conditioned to believe that any sacrifice, no matter how small, is intolerable”.

"The masters of war pretend not to know that it takes only a moment to destroy, yet a lifetime is often not enough to rebuild. They turn a blind eye to the fact that billions of dollars are spent on killing and devastation, yet the resources needed for healing, education and restoration are nowhere to be found." -Pope Leo XIV
