Here at home, that perspective calls us to make thoughtful choices about how we use land and water, and to invest in sustainable energy that protects our natural resources and sensitive ecosystems for future generations.

On this day, we remember the lives lost and renew our commitment to creating spaces where all people can learn, work, and lead without fear, discrimination, or exclusion — and where contributions are valued, acknowledged, and supported.
Remembrance must also guide action. Creating an equitable and inclusive world requires ongoing effort to ensure that everyone can contribute fully and fairly. Change is both possible and necessary if we are to build a sustainable and fair world for future generations.
🕯️On December 6, 1989, 14 young women were killed at École Polytechnique Montréal. More than 30 years later, this day continues to call us to reflect on how discrimination and exclusion still limit the full participation of women and gender-diverse individuals in schools, workplaces, and communities.
