Slow evening #patchbirding 200 Pinkies, 4 Avocet, 4 Cattle Egret, 4 Rook, 3 Sedge, 7 Reed Warbler, 20 Swallow, 8 House Martin, 4 Cetti’s, 3 Stonechat, 17 Wheatear, 2 Tree Sparrow, 4 Yellow Wagtail. Heavy cloud rolled in and the SE wind picked up making it chilly again 🤦♂️

Also had this interesting very grey flava-type this morning on #patchbirding. Presume it is a Channel Wagtail, but the hybridisation is making it more challenging each year 🤯 Step away from the Wagtails…..

Hi Laurie. Invariably they’re using the area in the red box to feed at lower tides, so distant without a scope. Don’t often come closer for some reason, presumably the composition of mud/sand/rocks for feeding?
