They're usually miles away, in the top of a tall tree and nowhere near the middle of Edinburgh. Good Luck!

Having never seen one that close, I was sure it was a Greenfinch until I went to delete the photo...

I've spent altogether far too much time looking at mud in the hope of a glimpse of this prehistoric looking creature. I've been rewarded with some great insights into it's behavior. Heard the full gamut of it's calls. I've even seen it fly. He (probably) is my bird now. #Birds

Dipper construction time in the Water of Leith today. Stupidly located nest immediately abandoned for a more quiet outlook. #birds

A Water Rail sneaking about. Real shame you so rarely get to see them do this. On the Water of Leith in Edinburgh. #Birds #BirdingScotland

I do in fact think they were red throated. Unfortunately they were too fast and my id is not good enough to be sure.

Does anyone know what kind of divers there are far off the coast at Musselburgh today? Saw 2 or 3 with black/white spotted backs, grey at the back of the neck and white underneath. Surface time limited to slightly shorter than it took me to focus them. #birdinglothian #birdingscotland.

Oystercatcher on a sea wall

Oystercatchers, knowing full well nobody believes they are busy catching oysters, always look like they are up to something nefarious. #Birds
