When I lived in Cambodia, I taught at a village school near Angkor Wat, which was my student's playground. They showed me a temple in which, if you stood in the right place and hit your chest with your fist, the temple would ring like a bell.

It's not so much that senryu only focuses on human nature or foibles, but that its focus is the human rather than the natural world, while haiku's focus is on nature. So your poem does fit that, and it's suggestive of more than it's explicitly about, which makes it linger in your mind. Great work!
