Come talk to me when ‘AGI’ is able to look at our summer planning spreadsheet and automatically enroll each kid in a different summer camp at 9:01 AM on some obscure spring Monday.

Excited for #SfN2025 #SfN. Tomorrow @acherkkil.bsky.social will be showcasing his ultra compact microscope array for cortex wide imaging in freely locomoting mice. Poster PSTR049.17 tomorrow 11/15 at 1:00 PM.
We will launching the first commercial miniaturized mesoscale imaging microscope for whole cortex imaging in freely behaving mice!
Imaging the brain means nothing if it can’t be done reliably.
Our See-Shell cranial windows and titanium headplates give researchers durable, repeatable access to the cortex — making chronic, stress-free imaging possible.

Imaging fast glutamate or voltage sensors?
New method to amplify electro-optical deflectors enables MHz line rate imaging. No new laser required. Led by @clwarkentin.bsky.social & @hari-shankar.bsky.social. MHz random-access imaging is in the works…
🚀 Big news from @objectivebio.bsky.social!
Thrilled to see our team driving transformative tech forward — including the newly funded mini-mScope!
Pushing the boundaries of neuroscience & empowering researchers everywhere.

Embryos. Click. Done.
That’s how simple microinjection gets with the Autoinjector.

I'm very excited to share the final, published versions of not one, but two papers examining cerebellar network dynamics in the context of healthy behavior and disease states using our new method for chronic, wide-field imaging of cerebellar cortical activity during behavior! (brief lil thread)
Photo of the Autoinjector instrument and the Objective Biotechnology booth.
Excited to launch the Autoinjector instrument at the @genetics-gsa.bsky.social Drosophila Research Conference #Dros25! This device automates microinjection into embryos for gene editing and other genetic manipulations. Learn more here: www.objectivebiotechnology.com
Euler diagram of the absolute stupidity of Indian team naming.
I have prepared this Venn (technically, Euler) diagram of the (idiotic) names of teams in the #cricket IPL. Hope this helps.

Thrilled to see our lab spin off Objectivebiotechnology.com launch our first commercial product developed on our lab. If you are at the @geneticssociety.bsky.social Drosophila meeting, come check out our AI guided embryo microinjection robot.
Here’s one from Mexican Hat, UT.
Went on an off-roading trip in the UT canyon-lands with my brother earlier this week. No internet, no phone connectivity for 2 days. Good to disconnect. Gives you perspective.
Some good news- got a NoA on an R21. Council review on 2/13- we threaded the needle. Federal reg happened in Jan, and after the 1/20-2/2 pause NIH communications. Hoping things get back to normal with the rest of the advisory council meetings
Today's the day! Minnesota, let's show up and make our voices heard to support science!
I will be running our graduate recruitment event that evening. Will be with you all in spirit.
Given everything going on, I am thinking this might be a good time to request a sabbatical. Thoughts bluesky’ers?
Kiddo 1 put together dessert for Valentine’s Day dinner. Brownie fudge sundae with strawberry hearts and crushed freeze dried watermelon drizzle.
Study section I was on for Feb 20th postponed ‘by about a month’ due to ‘longer wait time for submission to federal register’. Annoying given the time I have put in for reviewing the grant. Possibly devastating for the folks who spent month writing them. Anyone else getting similar emails?
It’s been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). I’m reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.
Really proud to see my postdoc work out!!
We used flexible, semi-transparent NeuroGrids to record traveling waves while simultaneously mapping cellular and subcellular dynamics with two-photon imaging

I still go on twitter for varied content- cricket, Bangalore eats, music etc. switching b/w twitter and Bluesky is like flipping the channel from fox to msnbc. Folks on both platforms in +ve feedback loop echo chambers. Interesting times.
Hello blue sky! So I started as faculty 9 years ago on this day. Pestered the only dept admin person who was working 2 days before Xmas to get me setup in the univ purchasing system so I could start placing orders for the lab. used to be much more driven and persistent then than I am now.
Congrats a big first step!
