a bear vacuuming a floor as a japanese salaryman looks on in terror

found out about the manga kuma gurashi which is like those ones where a manic pixie dream girl comes into a salaryman's life and starts doing all his domestic chores for him to heal his heart except in this one it's a realistically drawn bear and the salaryman is terrified on every single page

The hidden power keeping wages low For decades, economists gave short shrift to the idea of monopsony — a power employers can have to suppress wages. Now a wave of research suggests it's everywhere, and a new book argues it's key to understanding today's inequality.

'A storm every eight days' - country's biggest insurer calls for systemic response An increasing number of severe weather events were now happening in spring and summer, IAG says.

A storm hit NZ every 8 days on average in 2025, causing claims to the country's largest insurer to more than triple. IAG's Wild Weather Tracker showed there were 46 storms between March 2025 and end of February 2026.

Break up supermarket duopoly and guarantee liveable incomes We are building a future where we do more, faster, to protect our planet and make sure everyone is treated equally.

"It is, on the surface, the boldest thing any political party has said about the grocery market in years."

A certain commentator on the NZ First announcement.

There's just one problem: the Greens announced a policy to break up the supermarket duopoly 4 years ago.

Out on the open sea the National mini speed boat has its engine clunking in the air as it gets pulled down by a huge anchor. The anchor is a rusty Luxon head shouting, "IM NOT GOING ANYWHERE!" Chris Bishop is pleading with him to let go, Nicola Willis clings to Bishop, Simeon is trying to stop the boat from sinking with a trusted bucket and Tama is at the back trying to start the engine. It's a shit show.
