Saskatchewan, which is also under a conservative government, is open to further violence against substance users.

Conservativism is an ideology of self-importance that rejects science and compassion. It poses an existential threat to Canadian society.

Saskatchewan ready to give police greater authority to crack down on drug traffickers, users | CBC News The province announced on Tuesday it will be making changes to legislation and regulations to crack down on drug trafficking and on people using fentanyl and methamphetamine.

“The province says it's also considering involuntary addiction treatment centres as in neighbouring Alberta…” As always, I’m curious to see the evidence underlying the proposed changes. Afaik, punitive approaches to retrieving child support are also unsuccessful. #yxe #addiction #homelessness

There’s definitely a public health angle. E.g. You can’t contract infections from clean equipment. Avoiding these infections can be life-changing for addicts. For the public, it’s cheaper to provide clean equipment than to manage life-long illness.

SIMFC is running one of the #yxe warmup locations. If you have any items that would help folks stay warm, cozy, and safe over Christmas or beyond, take them down (168 Wall Street). You can make a difference for someone without stable shelter this holiday ♥️

It looks as though four hundred of our neighbors could be spending Christmas at a warming shelter. Even though it will be "nice" this week, that's really only for those of us with stable shelter. Are there small ways you could help this holiday? Someone out there really needs it. #yxe

Has anyone ever proposed a concrete plan for _where_ they want this shelter relocated? Or is it just “anywhere but here, up to and including industrial”? #yxe
