I also love how I am absolutely sure that "making them appeal to men" will involve every marketing strategy possible that isn't "acknowledge they have been systematically undervalued and underpaid due to being 'women's jobs' and pay everyone doing them what they are worth"

If I see it and I'm feeling a bit cheeky I'll ask one of the shop assistants that are working, and explain the situation.
I don't think anyone has ever said no, haha!

Good timing! The feature on @biogeneurope.bsky.social that #CORDIS has just published is a great way to see where our 2nd act - Biodiversity Genomics Europe Plus (starting in May) comes from: cordis.europa.eu/article/id/4... @iboleurope.bsky.social @ergabiodiv.bsky.social @eurotaxonomy.cetaf.org

To this day, I do not know if that counts, but I also didn't get an interview, so I never found out...

The "no dogs in shops" thing is a US thing that stood out to me as a Brit. Not restaurants, but pubs and cafes have always been "animal-safe" spaces.
Like you say, maybe systemic too - if you can't afford rent for a large space, but want a pet, is that or the social contract going to bend first?
