Colombia has deployed 30,000 troops to its border following the U.S. attack on Venezuela. Troops will be used for both security as well as humanitarian purposes as scores of refugees are reportedly expected at the border by the Colombian government.

Last Friday, PBI accompanied the Asociación para la Justicia y Reconciliación (AJR) at a gathering w/ the Ixil People where their lawyers shared updates on the #Genocide case. The first hearing—initially scheduled for Sept 2025 & later rescheduled for Dec 10, 2025—has now been postponed until 2026.
On Dec 9, several Honduran groups filed a complaint re election fraud, citing “serious irregularities” in the “transfer, distribution, verification, shipping" of election data & condemning alleged attempts to "impose foreign will,”… by the U.S & demanded “democratic processes ... be respected."
On December 11, Peace Brigades International-Honduras issued an alert regarding risks faced by the leaders of the Agrarian Platform and the campesino families of the Camarones cooperative in Quebrada de Arena, Tocoa, Colón. PBI continues to monitor this situation.
