River Seine: Waters reopens to swimmers after century-long ban For the first time in more than 100 years people will be able to swim legally in three sections of the river.

A hundred years ago, the Seine was declared too polluted to swim in. Today, it’s open again. A reminder that with investment and political will, rivers can be brought back to life. In the end, it’s a choice.

Shark Swim (2025) - Lewis Pugh Foundation Between 15-26 May 2025, Lewis Pugh will swim around the island of Martha’s Vineyard, to highlight the perilous plight of sharks around the world.

As apex predators, they keep the ocean in balance. Take them out, and the entire ecosystem starts to collapse.

Right now, sharks need us.

An estimated 274,000 sharks are killed every single day. It’s an ecocide taking place right now, and we must stop it.

Jaws has shaped our perception of sharks as vindictive killers. That fear spread across the globe and lasted for half a century.

Now it’s time to change the narrative for a new generation.

Sharks are not monsters. They’re magnificent. They’re essential. And they’re seriously endangered.

12 days & 59 miles around Martha’s Vineyard, where Jaws was filmed 50 years ago.

It's been one of the toughest swims of my life. Cold water, relentless wind, big waves and the constant thought of what might be beneath me.

But I swam here for a reason 👇

Today I reached the Jaws Bridge — probably the most iconic landmark from the film 🦈🌉

50 years on, it’s striking how much has changed, how little has, and how much still needs to.

53 miles in the bag. 5 to go.

You can’t negotiate with nature.

On Day 8, I barely managed 2 km in brutal conditions. Yesterday, with the wind and tide finally on my side, I swam 13.2 km.
