Left-handed crochet: How to crochet the magic ring
Left-handed crochet: How to crochet the magic ring YouTube video by The Woobles

Here’s a video with her showing how to make a magic loop: youtu.be/cpdFJirVZoY?...

The kit’s pretty good. I tried (and failed) crocheting dinosaurs from a B&N kit years ago. The video tutorials and the Woobles yarn are a lot easier to work with.

I got a @thewoobles.bsky.social kit for Christmas. I’m trying to crochet a dinosaur. Does anyone else think that the tutorial wan sounds like @kamalaharris.com ?

as in the Brit TV show? had no idea there was a game!

It's kinda funny how both hold up, but in different ways. TOS are like short morality plays, and TNG has a second- and third-levels of problem solving (maybe not the right term, but like when the first solution doesn't work, and they pivot, only to find that doesn't work either...)

But space frogs!

tbh, though, the more I find out about what he wrote, the more I admire him as a writer.

It's kinda like how the manga industry in Japan ended up being the storyboards for a lot of the TV miniseries and movies there. We have King.

I earned level 100 and received the Drakon's Ire set for Legion Commander in Dota 2.

It took me a couple months (and almost 100 turbo games, which I normally don't play) to earn this set. I even created a spreadsheet a couple weeks ago to figure out the fastest way to earn levels (and also to see if it was actually feasible to earn enough XP before the event was over.

Along the way, I met a little kid (maybe tween?) that wanted to be friends and play together a lot. Since I almost always played Legion Commander, he wanted to try (and to learn how to get good). Wanted to be on voice chat to talk to me, but kept muted because I think he didn't want to give away how old he was. But also, he was playing stuff like Poppy's Playtime and asking me to watch. Kinda made me feel like when I was playing League of Legends with my kid ages ago, or spending time with my nephew now.

Turbo is a completely different game from "normal" Dota - it plays faster, and it feels like there are skirmishes everywhere and no real strategy. I think that plays to my strengths, because this hero hides in the shadows and ambushes the back lines of the enemy team that thought they were safe.

It's been a fun time, but I think I need to get serious about the game and get my rank back up to where it belongs.

I found you guys during the pandemic.

Found out about some indie games because of you guys - Luck Be a Landlord, and the co-op first person escape room one that I can't remember right now. It was solace when things felt really lonely.

not on Twitch as much now since I'm trying to be more present

I've upgraded a couple of times, from the first edition with all the decks to newer ones to get animeeples. I wish we played it more.

I think one of the things that Wil did was that you could watch the game on his channel, and there was a partnership so that you *knew* you could go to Target and find the game. That was *huge* for the hobby.

I'm happy that in CA they are trying to pass a bill that requires visible IDs and no masks. Not sure that it'll go anywhere, but happy that at least people are trying.

I feel more uncool realizing that other people have glasses in rotation and don't wear the same pair every day.

Those look nice. Hope you're happy with them.
