On #NationalScrabbleDay, this periodic table shows what every element's name would score during a game.

Can you spot the highest scoring elements and the only element that scores the same as its atomic number? www.compoundchem.com/2019/07/07/p...

I shine like gold but cost much less,
In wires and coins, I’m a great success.
I carry currents, strong and free,
A key to tech and chemistry.
With time and air, I change to green,
Yet strong and useful, I’m always seen.
What am I? #ChemistryQuiz

I make the food but do not eat,
With sunlight’s help, I work and repeat.
I take in air you cannot see,
And give back life to you and me.
With water’s touch and energy bright,
I turn the day to green delight.
What am I? #ScienceRiddle

I wake you up and keep you wired, In coffee and tea, I'm quite admired.
A stimulant, yes, that much is true, My rings and nitrogens number two.
Though some may shake if they have too much,
Millions rely on my energizing touch.
What am I?

I ease your pain and calm your head, Born from a willow, but lab-made instead.
With acetyl and acid, my name is quite long,
- Yet billions take me when something feels wrong.
From heart to headache, my help is vast -
What am I, a remedy from science's past?

I pull without hands, yet all things obey,
Keeping your feet from floating away.
The bigger I am, the stronger my might,
I bend both paths and beams of light.
Though unseen, my force is true—
Without me, what would apples do?

Hundreds of US nuclear warhead workers sacked, then re-hired.
Concerning as these jobs require deep, specialized knowledge that takes years to develop. This could lead to security gaps that could put the country at risk.

The CEO of #TikTok just posted a video thanking Donald Trump 🤦‍♀️ I honestly feel like we’re all just pawns in this political game. This is just my gut feeling, but it seems like Trump might be orchestrating things to position himself as the “hero” who saves TikTok.

Many smoke detectors contain a small amount of the radioactive element americium-241. This isotope emits alpha particles that ionize air molecules, creating a small electrical current. Smoke disrupts the current. It poses no significant risk of radiation exposure under normal use. 💨

The 1931 book (A Hundred Authors Against Einstein), essays by critics of Einstein’s theory of relativity aimed to disprove Einstein. When asked, Einstein responded:
“Why a hundred? If I were wrong, one would have been enough.”
Meaning that truth in science is objective and not subject to a vote.
