Great feedback from students who can be very proud of their work! @stephenspender.bsky.social

Just to be absolutely clear, an editor who uses AI to assess manuscripts is talentless, and probably only got into publishing through their wealth and/or contacts. Get rid.

More KS2 teachers have been filling this in. THANK YOU! We're keeping the survey open as we'd love to have even more. Just 2 mins of your time to tick a few boxes!

Mamdani got a humanities degree.

His win helps to illustrate that one of the central forces driving higher ed’s dissolution of the humanities is the fear that teaching people how power works can also lead to their interest in seizing it on behalf of the less powerful.

Join me for our upcoming close reading sessions with @litcamb.bsky.social 2-4pm GMT on Sundays via Zoom. This winter we'll be repeating our sold out Keats class, looking at winter poetry and getting to grips with all those dashes in Emily Dickinson's miniatures:

St. Thomas Aquinas argued that poets and philosophers “are alike in being big with wonder.” Lucille Clifton remarked that “poems come out of wonder, not out of knowing.”

Part of what drives us to the page as poets is the pleasure of capturing in language what seems bent on eluding it.

It seems that the only relief I can find from the current political nightmare is to post rude songs from #18thc children's books & let my Bluesky friends make the applications as they choose.
Not just sure this one, also from Tommy Thumb's Pretty Songbook, will get past the moderators, but I'll try:

On the topic of digital mags and hearing poets read their own work, did you know @BathMagg's @MWhelanWriter was part of the inaugural wave of @iambapoet back in February 2020? You can check out her contribution here.

Your rights are under threat from AI. It’s time to have your say! The Government recently launched a consultation on AI and copyright. Now is the time to have your say and make sure that legislators hear the concerns of creators.

Got a spare moment on your lunch break? What better way to spend it than by telling the Government to respect the rights of creators.

Submit a response to their AI and copyright consultation. It doesn't need to take long. Guidance below 👇
