habitat's mission 1. lower the barrier of entry for who can build the social internet • Building a fully functioning "app" should be as easy as creating a website • Developers shouldn't need to store user data in order to provide

Cirrus (single-user, serverless PDS) by @mk.gg has gotta be one of the coolest things I’ve seen this weekend. And the implications of hibernating websockets…… 🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨 #atconference #atconf

See you all at @tessa.germnetwork.com’s talk Consent Before Cryptography at 2pm in great hall south!!
Having thoroughly enjoyed @brittanyellich.com's talk I'm wondering if @opensocial.community might offer an opportunity for community-based app discovery/recs. Maybe a group could determine which apps they recommend to new members? (Can you download apps from within other apps?)
Slide from Rudy's presentation. Lesson 4: The Cold Start Isn't a Solved Problem. There's a 4x3 grid of popular atproto apps.
The beauty of atproto is that there isn't a set suite of apps. And yet, I think newbies would appreciate a suite! Rudy made a really great point about discoverability being one of the major issues here.
Also, I'll say this -- it's nice when the apps link to each other. Being able to open your Germ DMs from a button on someone's Blacksky profile is so much nicer than needing to switch apps manually. And the context carries over automatically, which rocks. Wondering what other app links make sense.
