I love you buddy. Shmoo was the best boy and knew nothing but love right up to the very end. I bet the rainbow bridge feels like a warm hug on the beans, haha.
Rest easy sweet boy, you are dearly missed. โค๏ธ๐

Practicing oil painting, I'm starting to get the hang of it better. :D
I might tweak it a little more sometime, but for now not bad for practice!

A paint-over of my sculpture of my character Tater. She is sitting, holding a cup of hot tea with a serene expression.
Definitely! Grubs are easy to hate since people think they are gross and scary. So it's easy to convince people that grubs are bad and need to die. Poison is the easiest option since they live underground. But it hurts everything else as well.
PSA poster featuring the benefits of grubs. They improve soil quality, are a super important food source for many animals, and are effective decomposers. Grubs are very important to the entire ecosystem. The poster urges other options besides poisoning them.
With gardening season upon us, remember to be good to grubs. <3
Most of what people know of grubs comes from the pesticide industry, but these little guys are super important for our world.

For sure. ^^ No two people will draw exactly alike, because we are all unique from the moment where you apply your first stroke. Your style is literally just what comes from you, every line, every shape, it is always there.
Everyone has a style whether they try to or not. It comes out in subtle ways, like if I drew super toony and then anime, you would still be able to tell that I drew both.
If you like the look of something, try to break down *why* it appeals to you and incorporate it into your art.
Yepyep, artists are not paid, we are left with 0 direction, and the art is supposed to be an extra gift with sponsorship. Sponsors that harass artists should not be allowed to sponsor again from that point, but instead it seems the artists were punished and cut without warning.
Yeah, I understand sponsors are important, but they should absolutely be banned from sponsoring in the future if they harass the artists.
Last year sponsors were finding their artists in the dealers den and some even demanded free art because they didn't like what they got. They should be barred.
To add to the other reply, we are literally only given a link to the ref sheets of characters we are to draw, the dimensions, and dpi. That's it. Even when we ask for guidance and clarity (shading, style, theme, feedback on progress shots, etc etc) we get nothing.
Exactly. If there was an issue with the art the previous year, it should have been brought up at the time. Not just cut off with no warning for not following guidelines we were never given.
Your art is very good, I was really confused when I saw they cut you. I don't know how they can cut people for an expectation that was never set. Like what was the metric? Because at the moment it feels kinda random like it was just a coin toss.
100% all of the above. I don't know on what metric they were determining to cut people by, because there are none that make sense with the current guidelines we have (which are none).
And that is the extent of the communication we get haha.
Yeah, the communication was (and is tbh) awful. All the people they cut brought so much to the con for so long, it's really terrible how they've done this.
Your work is very good, they cut a lot of skilled artists suddenly this year. The email is really hurtful too. :/ idk how they can say anyone's art style is not "on par" when we don't even have a style guide.
This.... this isn't what you do to someone who volunteered for almost 10 years.
My art is "not on par"
I give up. This year has been so horrible, one after another. This was the last slap in the face I can take.
Con name redacted.

Digital painted portrait of my husband's fursona character Jotfox.
Practicing painting with overlay layers, idk why I never really used them before haha.
