Part of my history. Martin sparked my interest in developmental biology and made me join the @gfeev.bsky.social The fascinating research presented on meetings like #GfE2026 made me stay.

I though more along the lines: „friends you can choose, family you have“ 🧐 …

Things progress. PhD students graduate, labs change. The door of the glyco lab a.k.a. ‚the sugar cube’ closed as we moved one door further. All that remains is a LEGO memory of it (#Klemmbaustein). Thanks for all the good science, games and fun @encarnischezsal.bsky.social and @kpakari.bsky.social

Thx for reminding @gromesroland.bsky.social freezer was „only“ +39C that Monday, yet it turned everything (🐁🐇🐟) into an undefined goo …. I learned a lot about humans that day: most came holding their noses, laughing and taking fotos of Colin & me in full protection cleaning out the mess. Nice. Not.

Establishing an auxin-inducible GFP nanobody-based acute protein knockdown system to mimic hypomorphic mutations during early medaka embryogenesis Creating hypomorphic mutations are crucial to study gene function in vivo, especially when null mutations result in (embryonic) lethality. This is especially the case for enzymes involved in glycosyla...

Discovery and characterisation of gene by environment and epistatic genetic effects in a vertebrate model Phenotypic variation arises from the interplay between genetic and environmental factors. However, disentangling these interactions for complex traits remains challenging in observational cohorts such...
