Woolwich has signs of improvement but the Woolwich DLR TfL plots are an utter blight on the town.

Little symbolises housing failure like these sites.

Labour council for decades

Labour Mayor for a decade

Labour govt for two years.

And still silence! Nothing. No plans apparent. Failure writ large

17 years like this in Woolwich blighting the town in various sites. It's symbolic for me as to why Labour is dying in London and beyond.

If they can't build homes on public land for nearly 20 years in a prime site in a housing criss then what are they good for? Utter failure at most basic level.

Hotel approved more than six years ago at listed Greenwich Magistrates Court and former school next door. Seconds from DLR station.

Much of the site still rotting away.

Perhaps against expectations the renovation of the former Ordnance Arms in Woolwich is looking fantastic.

Opening up the corner entrance and windows again after post-war changes had bricked them over has transformed it.

Police officers ticketing illegal parking in #RegentsPark today.

Ah, finally. After a year of no enforcement they have finally seen illegal parking is endangering children cycling to school.

Whoops, no. It turns out Princess Anne is opening the new Elizabeth II garden today. It was optics.

You can actually see the moment Ed Miliband thinks, what's the point burning through whatever political credibility I've got left energetically defending a man who's going to be gone in a matter of weeks.

The court closed a decade ago in May 2016. A number of plans been and gone, some approved, but it's rotting away. Windows left open too which will help with infestations etc.

Not sure putting out all those barriers limiting pavement space in high footfall areas a full week before is a good idea.
