It's the end of the blue era at the countryside plot! I've been painting everything chocolate brown so that it will look better with the medium emerald green we plan to paint our tiny house in the future. The garden is also looking pretty good this spring! π π±
Things are going slower than expected as our builder hasn't been able to work much, but the roof is about half done now. Fingers crossed it will be ready for next summer. π€
My new favorite winter flower! They last so long as long as the heavy rain stays away.
Another one I will be sowing again! Such pretty flowers and not nearly so hard to grow as I thought.
Spring always makes me excited to visit the plot! Lots of plants about to flower, and I will definitely be sowing these poppies again. π
It's still pink poppy season at the countryside plot... And the climbing jasmine will be flowering soon as well. π±
I know about borage amending the soil, but I'm not sure about larkspur... Other that they help attract pollinators, and they look beautiful of course. π

UPDATE: I was right about the second larkspur to open its flowers being white! So pretty. π Am I the only one thinking they kind of look like little orchids? π± #gardening #flowerreport #spring

Simple and double pink poppy flowers
This is my first year growing poppies, and I'm so excited to discover that the first flower buds are starting to appear! For reference: on the right are the two varieties of pink poppies I was gifted seeds of. π±
No, it's actually still in the same pot I planted it in last winter... It died back early summer, and then started growing again during the colder months.

Haha there is still a long way ahead, but we hope to get at least the roof, plastering, windows and doors done in the next couple of months. π€
Winter at the countryside plot... The daffodils always flower early down here. π±
Dark and light pink two-toned verbena
Purple double erysimum flowers
Light orange double snapdragons
Another year of severe frost damaged a lot of our plants, but a quick trip to the nursery brought back some color to the winter garden. Pictured below: verbena, erysimum and snapdragon. π±
It's been a while since I did a countryside plot building update... The first phase of our #tinyhouse and bbq area has been finished for a month or so, and we are waiting for our builder to free up time to start on the roof. π #inprogress
Gotta soak up that autumn sun even if it's chilly outside! π I'm currently hanging out with my newest physical book and some of my seedlings... πππ± Left to right: a young kale plant with flax seedlings (orange), pink poppies (green and blue) and mixed delphiniums (yellow).
It's an apple pie kind of Thursday. π
Happy Hump Day! Delilah Bard always makes the funniest facial expressions... π€πΌ
Haha there is still a long way to go yet before that can happen. π
