Alliance experience is awesome, you won't be disappointed! If they are playing warrior, I recommend priest or mage of any race. Both are going to provide good utility at range for the duo. But all range classes are good in their own right, and you can def combo any of them successfully!

welcome to wow! I feel like alliance has more creative quests/leveling zones, but horde leveling zones are more efficient and faster.
In terms of late-game content, I think horde is harder because they are missing some crucial buffs that alliance paladins get. Nothing horde can't surmount tho!
