Before the northern plains stole the show, I think Texas was the MVP of this year.

It turns out the tornado me and @mesotography.bsky.social saw near Neelyville/Fairdealing, MO was the same violent EF-4 tornado that originated near Fifty Six, AR. This tornado was on the ground for 119 miles! #wxsky

For #structuresaturday
Finally seeing beautiful supercell structure is one of the few things that made 10/30/24 worth chasing. Okarche, OK
#wxsky
This structure held for about 5 minutes, then fell apart like everything else did that day 🙄

A structured supercell looms above the nebraska sandhills. The highway goes down through the hills towards the storm. The updraft creates shadows and sunrays behind it. The bottom half of the storm is smooth and carved out, while the top is fluffy before it spreads out in the anvil.

A big tornado is illuminated by the setting sun behind the hills ahead. The point of view is from the middle of the highway which runs off to the left. The lighting creates a partial double rainbow to the right of the tornado, and the colors are all very bright and dynamic because of the lighting.

A tornado climbs over the hill ahead shrouded by rain and hail. A rainbow extends over the right half of the frame. The tornado is very dark, filled with dirt and debris and slightly shadowed compared to the landscape and rain next to it brightly illuminated by the sun.

A skinny tornado is encircled by a dying mesocyclone. The bright white clouds look raggedy. The storm is off in the distance of the sandhills and the tornado dwarfs a cell tower to its right.

On June 25th, 2024 Whitman, NE witnessed and was victim to the #tornado of the year. It was the strongest tornado on record in that county, and was unwarned for most of its life. I was the only person to see the storm from the west, and another chaser saw from the east. #wxsky #photography

Video

I don't just make video games. I also do severe weather photography. Consider liking and resharing; this is the best tornado footage I've gotten all year and the best storm chasing video I've made to date. Full video here: youtu.be/wS7HaB5hqms #wx #wxpics #tornadotuesday #wxsky #stormchasing
