Cover art for Absolute Torch and Twang by k.d. lang featuring the singer dressed in work clothes in front of an expansive wheat field with a dilapidated old barn in the background and a big open sky up above.
Been listening to k.d. langâs Absolute Torch and Twang on repeat đ lately.
It works for other poetry too:
Girl, I heard a Fly buzz - when I died
Iâm pretty sure thatâs not correct, but itâs all kinds of understandable.
I watch the short film The Shawl on Vimeo a lot, but the subjects are profiled in this segment on YouTube, and itâs such a testament to living oneâs life honestly and authentically:

Straight guy at a martini bar?
Brokeback Mountain reference saying âI wish I knew how to quit youâ featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger as Jack and Ennis with the captions âWinnipegâ and âWinterâ
Itâs 19 degrees and snowing in Winnipeg right now.
Iâm not quite sure why I like all of the songs so much. I find my self humming a lot of the songs throughout the day. âYouâre in my head, my heart, my body partsâ especially.
I have to say that I like all 35 songs from the ESC this year. Michelle reminds me of Belle from Notre-Dame de Paris and Viva, Moldova! is just wonderful. I donât skip any of the 35 songs on the Apple Music playlist. Salute a tutti. #ESC2026
RuPaul 18:1 RDR - Now, promise me one thing: you wonât let anybody take away the shine God gave you.
I once played FROTTAGE at Scrabble club, and the person I was playing didnât know what it was, so everyone gathered around. I was blushing like mad, so I guess that I was a cherry red frotter at that time.
What is your go-to Taylor Swift song when youâre in a rush and need a pick-me-up?
Youâre just being griddy with the puns.
Change âthe Metsâ to âthe Jetsâ and thatâs me!
Weak on crime, for sure, but love your neighbor as yourself sounds like good foreign policy to me.
As an aside, I love the Baltimore CFL references on the show! Such a very â90s specific thing.
I really hope so, Emily.
Like for my presentations at work, the AV isnât working well.
Crocheted versions of Renly Baratheon and Loras Tyrell enjoying a moment
Renlyâs death in Game of Thrones. The writers again making the mistake. To this day, I have big feelings about GOT.
Khaleesi and her dragons burning down Kingâs Landing. The writers being the ones making the huge mistake.
I am too, Keller. Well-written. Great characters. I get teary sometimes with it.
Iâm just happy to see youâre back doing the Spelling Bee, and presumably generally enjoying it. đ
Welcome back, Ben! đ
A recent musing on Bluesky by @puzzletrip.bsky.social prompted me to post this critically reviewed video:

Iâm with Trip on this one, Jason. :)
The Moon (a sonnet using four sets of Scrabble tiles) 0 faithful moon in heaven's silver sea, Our prized eternal geologic bride, You wax or wane adjusting ocean tide, Eclipsing pools of dark tranquility. Next daybreak came with no apology, Again I wait while you above me hide, A dim RSVP from back inside A quiet rendezvous trajectory. At dusk once more inexorably rise, Just up above horizon's water-edge, Reflecting in a wave of liquid light. Expect me in a violet sunset haze, Abandon me all day but I won't judge, Forgive a day's prerequisite for night. Blanks = C, D, H, I, N, S, V, and Y
That reminded me of this ode the moon by #Scrabblegram master David Cohen, @dcscrabblegram.bsky.social
It's a quadruple Scrabblegram #poem, using the 400 tiles from four #Scrabble sets! It's also a wonderful #sonnet!

This made me laugh. Nice work, Dave. Simple and brilliant.
I could go for some Beeves Stroganoff. :)
