Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme of “eye contact” has me immediately thinking of songbird banding sessions I’ve sat in on at Oak Hammock Marsh, Manitoba. Every captured bird gives its own variation of stink-eye while data is collected. This yellow warbler is saying it’s got places to be – dammit. #birds

国民皆保険、普通に今までの医療を維持し続けるのはもう無理で、みんなでみんなの医療費を負担する制度を維持するためには、効果やエビデンスの乏しいものを見直すしかない、というか今までそれをやってこなかったツケを払う段階にきていると思う　高齢者のポリファーマシーに真面目に向き合ったら内服半分に減らせたりするのにそれをやらない/できない状況があり、そういう小さな積み重ねが今の医療自体を脅かしている　痛みはきちんとケアすべきだけど、本当に守るべきものは湿布じゃない（ちなみに湿布が保険収載されている国はかなり珍しい）

今日は83歳の女性が「もう体調が悪いから仕事を終わりにしたいんだけど、暮らしていけないから何とか続けてきたのよ。でももうダメかも知れない。自転車のタイヤを交換したいけど、お金が無いから、少し空気だけ入れてもらえる？」って来た。僕が少しでもお金を受け取らないのを知っているから卵とミカンを買ってきて渡してくれた。こんなかわいそうなお年寄りが最近増えている。早く政治が変わって欲しい。
