Between now and the election, I do not want to see the media focussing on how badly Luxon is managing his caucus. I want to see them writing about how appallingly Luxon's government is managing the country.

JFC!
#FascistWannabe #AtlasCult members are trying it on again to kill the #TreatyOfWaitangi!
#NZ #Labour is calling the review of Treaty legislation a 'Treaty Principles Bill' “by stealth”, as govt confirms a bill to overhaul Treaty clauses across legislation cld be introduced within mths.
#nzpol
ANALYSIS: Government set to reduce Treaty in legislation to the lowest possible standard!
What it means is, they couldn't pass their bill to kill the #TreatyOfWaitangi so now they'll weaken Treaty obligations across 23 laws to undermine it!

I actually think it’s pretty fucking funny.

How many times announcements will Govt Ministers need to make before actually doing something? Why do we only hear of the supermarket duopoly and cost of living crisis as we get near elections? It affects the rest of us all the time...

Even my non disabled cuzzy found the experience of ASH degrading and dehumanizing.
For disabled people, and their whānau, it causes nothing but pain, stress and family separation. It needs to go.

Tell us you're a climate change denier without telling us.
Turning emergency response and preparedness into a culture war issue will get people killed.

Kia ora to all involved in the antiwar demo in Auckland on Sat. Such a diversity of people & heartfelt kōrero. After all these years we're still marching on the US consulate opposing yet another imperialistic American war in which our govt seems happily complicit. @kikorangi.bsky.social #nzpol
During COVID we faced the reality of life or death
The govt of the day did their best to prevent more deaths
This time we have the reality of not life or death but can we fill our car up with fuel.
That's all this govt has to do is get more oil and wow they don't know what's happening

I fondly recall that Jacinda had the Covid crisis so throughly in hand that she even told us the Easter Bunny was an essential worker.
The thoughtfulness. The attention to detail. On top of saving tens of thousands of lives. #NZPol
Pretty sure they would know where we are now. The terrorist attack and Jacinda's response that went global, and the world leading response to the global pandemic.
If these holidays for IDF is still going on Aotearoa NZ should stop this, lest Israeli Govt get the idea we agree with anything they are doing to civilians in Gaza, South Lebanon, the west bank and Iran. There is no “whitewashing” going on now. #nzpol
"It was important also for the government to be aware countries that spoke out against the US president often faced consequences, Gillespie said."
Like France,? which now has ships going through the Strait of Hormuz
Winston Peters is making us a target.
Why is a staffer from Casey Costello's office, who was once married to Chris Hipkins, doing a hit job on him at the same time as NZ First, Winston & David Farrar are doing the exact same thing? Is this just "bad timing"?
Hmm
Can we all shut the fuck up now about Hipkins and his ex, because however strongly you feel about her allegations, this will impact on their kids.
They are at that age.
Please stop the public gossip & speculation or just do it offline if you absolutely have to

Too many of the original Dirty Politics team have their fingerprints on the furore regarding Hipkins' private life not to see it for what it is - an attempt to distract from Luxon's inadequacies and his government's punishing policies. Let's vote them out!
Greenpeace was just on the steps of Parliament with Chris Hipkins, handing over a petition, which was signed by thousands of New Zealanders, calling on the Luxon government to take a stand on the war in #Iran.
I had dealings with her when she was min of police.. told a pkt of lies and tried to tell me about infection prevention and nursing practice. when I was contracted to the police.
You can literally see where this government increased our exposure to oil price shock
There is no reason for this other than oil money funding politics

Time in lockdown compare to other countries shows that we were out of lockdown more than other counties
Excess mortality for COVID period is significantly lower than comparable countries.
Debt is higher now than under COVID when Ardern and Hipkins were trying to keep everyone in employment rather than trying to sack everyone.
I find it very hard to believe our media cannot simply state, as the report shows, that our COVID response was largely successful with room for improvement. Given these figures on excess mortality, extent of lockdowns and level of debt, how can the coalition complain? #NZpol
Many people reckon Simeon Brown should have asked more questions about the risks of his mandatory higher speed limits in neighbourhoods, around schools & on dangerous highways — evidence that was readily available to him at the time, and that continues to accumulate in the form of injuries & deaths.
Next Govt should have a Royal Commission into the cancellation of the ferries, just to be fair and all
National lamenting $60 billion Covid spend while they are on track to borrow $120 billion with no pandemic.
Labour saved 20,000 lives.
National are saving landlords and tobacco
National's misrepresentation of the Covid Royal Commission's findings is some of the most pathetic, dishonest, and irresponsible campaigning NZ has seen. #nzpol
