A cedar waxwing perched in a haskap shrub. It has a tan upper body, a black face mask, and a light grey tail with a bit of yellow on the bottom. The red waxy tips on their wing feathers are showing, and that’s where their name comes from! A purple haskap berry is hanging amongst the green leaves and it will get eaten soon.

A few yrs ago, we planted some haskap shrubs in our yard.Their fruit looks like an elongated blueberry and is tasty, but a bit tart.
We don’t get to eat many because … reasons.
Reason number one:
