So excited to see the Great Crested Grebe. 🥹
What a stunner! 😍
The UK species pretty much stays local, wintering in coastal spots and then coming back to freshwater in the Spring to breed. 🌸

Feathers and birds in the bush are today’s two themes. Going with both - with a feral’s feathery floofiness and an LLT’s hawthorn heaven

First day in London. Two hours of sleep. 😴 Amazing birds!!!! 🐦 🐧🐤👀
This warbler sized Blue Tit was flitting in the canopy with another. Shocking to see them for the 1st time.
How did we not notice these beauties in trips past?

A mainly white Feral Pigeon, with light brown patches on its wings and light grey on its tail. There are some other grey Feral Pigeons in the background.
A flock of 15 Feral Pigeons feeding on the ground in a garden. Most are different shades and pattens of grey, but one is mainly white and another is mainly pale brown.
Garden birding. This rather attractive Feral Pigeon has joined my regular garden flock of about 15. #londonbirds
Positive signs for the kingfisher pair on the island at Walthamstow Wetlands.
If all goes well, the male is going to have a lot of work to do feeding the young.

An afternoon at WWT London Wetland Centre today with thankfully not too much rain. Managed to get a bird species count of 33, including a decent number of Sand Martins, a dozen Lesser Black-backed Gulls, and of course plenty of Ring-necked Parakeets and Waterfowl around. #londonbirds #birdwatching
