Regular wear helps protect silver from tarnish too. Our skin oil acts as a barrier.
Mountain West folk have to watch out for hot springs though. The sulfur in those springs will tarnish your silver 5 seconds flat. It's the fastest "real silver test" I know.

100%. I am right there with you.
Aside from one or two pieces, I don't own soft stones or brittle stones like topaz or emerald anymore.
The work I do is entirely too hard on jewelry and hands to have anything less than a sapphire for daily wear. Hence the ultrasonic.
You can find jewelry steam cleaners for home for a few hundred bucks but I don't think they're worth the money. You get some specialized parts and pieces, but I've personally never seen them do much more than what a good ultrasonic would do. Those cost a lot less and they use less energy.
It's quartz all the way down.
I thought this too. It's beautiful. Sort of a pale spring green. I don't think I've ever seen that in a quartz before.
You can use a small brush to get into all the cracks and crevices and then just rinse it with distilled or filtered water.
Good for getting off the daily oil, soap, lotion, and grime.
It's going to get all of the cracks and crevices and make it shine beautifully. It's not always safe for fragile stones though. Most liquid jewelry cleaners would be safe. They make them opal and pearl safe so anything that forms druzies should be fine. Toothpaste is also very effective and gentle.
Depending on what the druzy is is going to affect how you clean it. For example, Hematite or pyrite are more durable so they can take more potent cleaners or scrubbing.
Easiest fastest way is to go to your local jeweler and pay them to use the steam clean.
OMG the Jellyfish!
Just add ADHD and you can do this, ten, fifteen times over. π

Triple strength cheap ass black coffee forgotten on the warmer for 8 hours. Microwaved to warm it up.
You're not special if you can drink this without cream or sugar. You're not strong. You're pitiable because you don't know better. Get over it cowboys.
donations for the gift giving pot will open tomorrow morning
this is a very strange time in history. we have no idea how generous people will be this go-round
all we know is that this community always steps up to brighten each other's day when they can
My Tea of the Month people deserve a treat.
And so do I.
(Whether this becomes the tea composed for April will depend on whether I get the Wild Rice idea sorted soon enough...)
I want to make something with Baker Street.
Is there a detective/story you'd like to see a tea for?

Maybe when it happens, we can hang him up on a gibbet and watch the crows pick his eyes out on a 24-hour live stream.
But, at least theyβve got their guns, right?
a bear vacuuming a floor as a japanese salaryman looks on in terror
found out about the manga kuma gurashi which is like those ones where a manic pixie dream girl comes into a salaryman's life and starts doing all his domestic chores for him to heal his heart except in this one it's a realistically drawn bear and the salaryman is terrified on every single page

So there are SOME folks, few and too far between, who have a spine if it comes down to it. Okay. Great.
Is it the light that makes the hematite look brown gold? Every piece I've ever seen has been distinctively silvery.
A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trumpβs policies β including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought β are not able to apply for direct relief. The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."
The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.
It's my understanding he's a big fan of the Bible too. Particularly the chapter of Revelations.
Wow itβs wonderful to see school leadership show support for school staff who have been working without sufficient classroom resources for terrible pay and benefits for far too long. NC is 50th in education funding effort, and we spend almost $6k less per student than the national average. #nced
A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.
In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."
Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!
"Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial: Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later."

The worst part of this kakistocracy is the opposition party viewing it as primarily a fundraising opportunity.
