Quote from the email I just sent: "It's also a little uncomfortable to read a policy that refers to me as "the wheelchair"; I am a person"

I will die on this hill:
it isn’t hard to say “at the height of the pandemic” or “at the start of COVID” during a podcast interview. Producers, hosts, don’t let your guests say “during COVID” like this thing is over. Correct them. Ask them to say the sentence again. This is your job.
"Nursery arranges training for GP surgery on Why Guide Dogs Are Friends" would make a great headline
There’s renewable energy ads and there’s mother**cking wind farm ads. This, blissfully, is the latter.
Just a reminder that Covid still exists. So far this summer, 10 people I know have had Covid. 3 have had hospital admissions.
I have some spikes left over; we could design something together and then I could send you the item when it's done? I'm really interested in designing clothing with a disability rights message and function and #JustAskDontGrab goes well with spikes, but other ideas are exciting too!
The United Nations’ highest judicial body ruled that nations must prevent environmental harm and limit greenhouse gas emissions. The nonbinding decision pressures countries to fulfill climate pledges and opens doors for global climate cases.
@blondehistorian.bsky.social I made a hoodie with spikes to stop strangers petting me, and wondered if something similar might be something that would discourage people holding your arm without consent. Please message if you would like to talk about this more
You did a thing!
Anyone know a legal expert on trusts and wills? (I'm OK, just doing paperwork)
Does anyone know of a patient-run outpatient clinic? Can be a physical location or virtual. I'm aware of groups where people share experiences, but that's not quite what I am looking for. Something that gives people access to equipment, treatment, and resources, but is not controlled by drs only.
Industrial food systems are driving fossil fuel use – and vice versa.
@foodtank.bsky.social covers our #FuelToFork report, unpacking how food's fossil fuel addiction drives risks for climate, ecology, health, and food access – and how we can break the cycle.

Great article about the comedian, Steve Coogan on co-ops. Steve, a key host at #coopcongress this year, is an ambassador for @middcooperating.bsky.social which has an arts centre, and has set up an tenants union for people with housing problems.

If you put googly eyes on the Pillars of Creation you get muppets 😄😄
However this vote goes, thank you to all the MPs who are in there representing their disabled constituents and making the people who want this recognise that this is not popular or easy.

I wonder if you can help me? I'm trying to find scientific research about the risks of reinfection for someone who already has Long Covid?
I can only find this paper www.longcovidkids.org/post/a-world...
Might you know of any more?
... And yet we will, because we currently have to
Was once told "Come back when you can't hack it."
Hello! Could you tell me more by DM?
Go for it :)
Wheelchair user here: Why will this person not stand without assistance? If there is something physical going on, it may be worth looking into what equipment is available so that you're not at risk of damaging you or them if something goes wrong, or from repeated overuse of muscles.
Covid infection levels are continuing to slowly rise but, for the moment, still remain at historically lower levels. Around 1 in every 239 people in England were infected in the week to 22 June, and the overall Covid risk remains Moderately High.

This is why we are needing PIP cuts! Long Covid! Covid is airborne. Labour has the same incorrect guidance in place from the Tories. It’s not mild, it’s also predominantly airborne! @eddavey.libdems.org.uk
Does anyone else have an occasional hobby of reporting fake medicine advertising?
Absolutely!
This week, MPs will vote on whether to decriminalise abortion in England and Wales.
As the police issue guidance to search women’s homes for abortion drugs and seize phones to inspect menstrual tracker apps, I wrote about why reform is more vital now than ever. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
💥Mad Youth Organise have created a fantastic resource showing where different MPs stand on the upcoming vote on benefit cuts.
