Missed the symposium deadline over Easter? Good news! The Call for Symposia for GLIA 2027 has been extended by 12 days. New deadline: 20 April 2026. Submit Symposia, Trainee, or Technical proposals: https://www.glia-meeting.eu/2027/call-for-symposia/
Incredibly proud of this paper led by @ossamaghenissa.bsky.social and @mathiasgua.bsky.social titled Basolateral 'Amygdala Astrocytes Encode Anxiety States'.

We also show that there are unique properties of this coordination between the visual and the auditory systems and highlight astrocyte heterogeneity between these two regions.
In it we show that neuron-astrocyte coordination during early postnatal development in mice is conserved also within the visual system.
My last paper from my postdoctoral fellowship at the Bergles lab is finally out!

It was a real blast to see all the posters of a growing community of #GliaNetworks at #GLIA2025 🤩
Thanks @astrocytenet.bsky.social (aka Kerstin Lenk) for your efforts to put us together 👏
See you all around the world 😊
Fun to participate to the #GliaNetworks joint booth, see you next time!!🙌

New paper by the @siegertlab.bsky.social @istaresearch.bsky.social, Verena Schmied, Medina Korkut-Demirbaş, Juan Pablo Maya Arteaga, and Alessandro Venturino presents a new brain organoid model that reveals details of the developing nervous system’s response to viral infections, such as Rubella.
Today, we had the first in-person ATgliaNet symposium. We, the organizers, really enjoyed the discussions and meeting so many glial enthusiasts working in Austria in one spot. The next meeting is already planned 🤗

Come join us for our first Austrian glia network symposium!
Check out our latest preprint! We find that astrocytes follow neuronal waves in the super colliculus before eye opening.
