Book cover of Beartown by Fredrik Backman—blue and green colors; a couple of kids playing ice hockey on a frozen lake.
Movie cover of Home Alone: a family comedy without the family. Child making a screaming face with the two villains in the background.
Album cover for Noah Kahan’s album Stick Season. A man (Noah) standing in a field with two German shepherd dogs. There’s a barn and a forested mountainside in the background.
A poster for The Walking Dead show. A ten-lane highway outside of Atlanta: one side of the highway is creamed with broken down vehicles; the other side shows a man on a horse.

The Trump administration has placed two top security chiefs at the U.S. Agency for International Development on leave after they resisted turning over classified material in restricted areas to Elon Musk’s staffers. America, please stand with us—we are fighting to defend this country!
At OPM, Musk’s staffers won’t leave—they work around the clock and have even installed sofa beds in the office. Our access to data systems has been restricted, raising serious concerns about cybersecurity and a complete lack of oversight. We are keeping our heads down and documenting everything.
A Storygraph chart: my January 2025 reading wrap-up. I read 9 books for a total of 3,185 pages, and my average rating was 3.78 stars.
This shows the ratings and book covers for the nine books I read this month. I rated Dungeons and Drama and Iron Flame five stars.
My January reads! 💙📚
it’s wildly irresponsible for mainstream media to call romantasy books “smut” or “p*rn” in out-of-context headlines during an era of increasing book bans and purity culture hysteria.
this mischaracterization and willful ignorance of an entire genre is how you normalize book bans.
Several someones put together a guide on how to spot AI generation in cross stitch, embroidery, and even crochet.

A piece of hand-dyed aida cross stitch fabric in purple and green. Stitched on it is “has it ever”…”you that we.” The full quote will say “Has it ever occurred to you that we don’t want to be popular?”
My newest cross stitch project: a gift for my daughter—sewneedlejuice’s Stranger Things pattern. 328 stitches of 8,053. Fabric from BestitchMe. My lighting is not the greatest; the aida is softer in person than it looks in the photo. 🥰
That is lovely work! 😍
A hardcover copy of the book Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros on top of a fuzzy blanket.
This book. Ahhhh. I love it. ~50% read. What a perfect escape from this cold, weird day. 📚 #ironflame #booksky #currentlyreading
A photo of a cheesecake on a table.
I made a maple brown butter cheesecake for a family gathering. It was delightful. I think I’m in my cheesecake-baking era. ✨
I like to read and do cross stitch; I love audiobooks since I can combine both of my favorite hobbies! I’m hoping to gain some embroidery skills this year as well. ☺️
Now that’s some bullshit👇🏻

My last project. (Even funnier because my partner’s name is Richard, and this was my contribution to his friendsmas white elephant gift exchange.)
Ok #booksky, let’s talk.
