These are white Spanish Bluebells
No sapphire hue or frosty blue,
It's porcelain bells and shimmering dew.
Growing sturdy, straight and tall,
Waiting for the dew to fall.
A garden traveler, wild and free,
Finds it's home beneath a tree.

A sunny, wild, and cheerful weed
that brings a bloom to those in need.
Crush the bloom and it bleeds red
to heal a bruise or sooth the head.
Gathered at midnight on the saint's holy day
St. John's Wort is thought to charm all witches away.

Creeping where the shadows play
Pretty Periwinkle, brightens the way.
Among the grass and morning dew
Their petals, a royal purple blue.
A shining star,a trailing vine
Making an ordinary garden shine.

Tiny rosettes, of purple, pink and white.
Nuttall's Toothwort starts to rise,
Lifting blossoms to the skies.
Four petals, open like tiny wings,
Tells us the ground is awake;
it is Spring.
