After nearly two months of constant rain, weather is finally calming down. I also managed to get back into the water after an even longer break. Still no new photographs, though... one day!

Deborah Parkin Photography Slowing Down. Photographing my Horse series. I have been seeing a new trend lately - 'Slow reading' - in which we are invited to read along ...

I have just written a blog about my approach to photographing my Horse series. If you have the time, I would really appreciate you stopping by.

I have had a few technical problems with sentences going for a walk but hopefully it will be ok.

Beside that I am trying to reduce my ‘social media’ presence as the last months proved that these are rather antisocial. I deleted all apps from my phone so using some of them only from computer and I am super happy with it. That was a plan for a long time ;)

The only usable photograph, created over the last 3 months or so…Weather and general duties kept me away from my cameras.

Happy New Year! I don’t check social media very often, so I’m hoping this is still relevant—even two weeks into 2026 ;)

Fine Art Black & White Photography Prints | Archival Quality - Artur Sikora - Architectural photography Authentic black and white film photography printed as archival pigment prints. Timeless fine art made with analogue cameras and museum-grade materials.

Just a quick note. If anyone needs a last minute gift - photographic print is a nice idea ;)
I believe it is too late to ship it further than Ireland or EU.
Each of them still needs to be printed though ...

A black and white image of an old building in the distance with a dimly visible stream in the foreground. The image is very soft and dreamy.

B+J “Grover” 8x10, Wollaston 125mm f1.6 meniscus lens, Lupex contact paper (rated at .02iso!), ~6s exposure at f2

Channeling some soft pictorialist landscapes! 😅

[4/4] All the photos are black and white, so getting accurate tonal reproduction (without any color cast) is especially important
Thanks so much for any advice or recommendations!

[3/4] My project, Coffee Flavour, was done through Blurb, and I was quite happy with it overall. But that was about 15 years ago, so I’m wondering what other good options are out there these days. I might still stick with Blurb, but I’m definitely open to suggestions.

[2/4] I’ve been working on a photography project ‘Before the Leaves Fall’ since last year that I’d like to complete as a photo book or album. Publishing through a traditional publisher isn’t really an option right now for financial reasons. At least for now.

[1/4] Hi Everyone, I have a question for those of you with experience in self-publishing photo books. I’m looking for an alternative to Blurb — something in a similar price range, but maybe with better print quality and good customer service in case of any issues. Preferably in EU.
