Crested Caracara from South Texas earlier this month. Every once in a while a bird is worth stopping and taking a picture of.

Not often. But once in a while.

To whom it may concern;

I have been aware of a significant miscarriage of justice in federal hiring for a few weeks now, and I thank you for the opportunity to inform you of it.

There was a hiring decision made during the last weeks of the Biden Administration in which a clearly unqualified candidate with zero practical experience and significant personality disorders that would interfere with his ability to perform as the job requires, was hired for a position despite far more qualified competition. The alternative applicant being considered is a longtime attorney with significant experience in public safety and governance onΒ Β municipal, state, and federal levels.

It is clear to me that the chosen candidate for this job was hired solely due to their race and gender. I look forward to your response informing me of your action to remedy this issue.

You can reach the improperly hired person at the following address:

Donald J. Trump

Thank you for your important service to the United States of America.

Signed

Angry resistance music is keeping me going. Been putting a playlist together with a mix of fury and protest folk. open.spotify.com/playlist/1hx...

And so begins day three of the next 4(00?) years. Feels like I've aged about two years per day so far. Looking forward to being 342 years old at the end of this all.

What are some things you all are doing as mental health selfcare, to keep you sanity during this time?

Today, there are so many reasons to lose hope. There is darkness, and fear, and hate, and loathing, and apathy, and cruelty, and disagreement, and division, and despair, and resentment, and blame. There is the bitter end of a journey marked by so many bitter stops along the way. The road has been long, and hard, and here at the end, it has been revealed to be even longer, and even harder. And so, standing here, there are many reasons to lose hope.

But there are so many more reasons to find hope, and I need you all to know that. There is hope in every shadowed corner just out of eyeline. There is hope waiting to reveal itself, if only we have the courage to look for it. There is hope in the small, everyday moments that drive us forward. Look for hope, and you will find it.

Look for hope in the rising of the sun. Look for hope in the gentle dappled shade of a soft woodland glade. Look for hope in the smile of a stranger as you wait in line at the store. Look for hope in the voices of those that are weary but still forge on. Look for hope in the spark of a campfire, twinkling and floating in the form of embers in the cool evening breeze. Look for it in the babbling of a brook, in the whisper…

Look for it in the babbling of a brook, in the whisper…

The darkness approaches. We will meet it. We will get through it.
Acknowledge the darkness, acknowledge the fear, the pain, the despair. Acknowledge it, and then choose hope anyway.

We shall overcome πŸ’™

Got to spend Christmas in the desert with some kit foxes. Four of them surprised me in an area I've been visiting for years, and have apparently missed this den the whole time.
Love them. Sleepy lil puppies.

We do what we can. I write and create harsh graphics, you create smut; our contributions equally help the cause.

Love the longevity of the conversation this time. It isn't fading, it isn't going away. The Revolution is here to stay.

When they said the revolution will not be televised, I didn't think they meant it would be promulgated through tablet-created NSFW fanfic smut instead.

What a wild time to be alive, a beautiful time, but a wild one.
Also, I think you shorted him a couple inches there.

Just a Tuesday reminder that when they say violence is wrong, they mean violence is wrong as long as it isn't systemic, and no one is making money off of it. πŸ‘

Welcome Tom! It's slow at first, but it's a refreshing break from the engagement driven social media everywhere else. More positivity, peace, and quiet over here.

Change doesn’t happen in a single leapβ€”it happens when voices refuse to be silenced. Keep speaking, keep showing up, keep the fire alive. The power of one multiplies when we stand together. Let’s not let this moment fade. Speak. #DenyDefendDepose

Decades of voting, protests, and reforms have brought little change. The system isn’t brokenβ€”it’s working exactly as designed. Revolution is no longer a choice; it’s a moral imperative. The time for waiting has passed. The time for action is now. Rise up.

Deny. Defend. Depose.

Every revolution in history was sparked by collective action. From toppling empires to fighting for civil rights, solidarity has shown its power time and again. When we stand together, we’re unstoppable. The system depends on divisionβ€”revolution depends on unity. We the people.

The numbers don’t lie: the 1% own more than the bottom 90%, CEO pay has skyrocketed while worker wages stagnate. This isn’t just unfairβ€”it’s a moral failure of systemic injustice that demands action. Inequality on this scale isn’t sustainable, and it’s time to change the system

Class consciousness is the realization that the struggles we face aren’t personal failingsβ€”they’re systemic. The divide between the wealthy few and the struggling many isn’t accidental; it’s intentional. Knowing this is the first step toward collective action and real change.

This is more than a slogan left behind on bullet casingsβ€”it’s a call to action. Deny their power of exploitation. Defend the truth; systemic injustice is by design. Depose the structures that profit from suffering.
Revolution begins when we refuse to accept the unacceptable.

A red fist clutching a ribbon or cloth is overlaid with the slogan Deny Defend Depose. A black background with cracks and subtle motifs of shells and flames features the words "The American revolution starts now" at the bottom

This isn’t about a man; it’s about a system of profit over lives, 45k die yearly from lack of care, & the working class is trapped in despair.
Revolution isn’t destructionβ€”it’s creation. Don’t let this moment fade. Change is possible, but only if we act. The time is now.

Went out on Thanksgiving to try for a November snake and found the first neonate ruber I've ever seen.

Ruber don't usually get seen until about two years old, they seem to simply vanish for the first year or two.

Baby Chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater) from spring of 2023 in the western Mojave.
They are the second largest lizard in the US, and are almost exclusively vegetarian. They love eating flowers, and seem to favor yellow ones!

Such gorgeous, gentle, beautiful creatures. #herping #lizard #Spring #herp

Lost it, forgotten it, stopped believing in it. There's a whole world out there beyond the borders of what we know, see, and believe. A world of magic and intrigue and, yes, wizardry.
